I hate that I have to write this one star review, but Adrianne V (bartender with green hair) has to find another place to work at… My friends and I visit this place often when we make a trip to Vermont and the foods great and USUALLY we get along with the staff. But i guess the green haired bartender decided she wanted everyone to have a bad day? So first my friend got herself a drink and food and she warned me that the bartender had an attitude problem. Adrianne didn’t close my friends tab and when my friend asked for it closed, she wasn’t too happy to do it showing by her face and tone. When I went up to the bar Adrianne was initially nice so I thought it wouldn’t be that bad, I WAS WRONG. I ordered a drink, so did my friend, then we got our cards back but we didn’t want our tabs open. She never asked if we wanted them open or closed she just immediately opened the tabs and said nothing (they had a sign that said open tabs would be automatically charged 20% so I couldn’t help but think she was doing it on purpose). So we wait minutes for her to come back and she’s just helping other customers which is fine. Another one of my friends comes up and wants two beers, we quickly ask if we can add it to our tab and she says “only 2 beers at a time” and speeds off before we can respond. But then I said excuse me, since closing my tab shouldn’t be a time consuming issue, and I was like “would I be able to close my tab with the $15 minimum on one drink?” She says no and I can add my friends drinks to my tab so I was confused cuz she first said we couldn’t but I was about to accept then she snaps and aggressively saying “You need to tell me what you want to do cuz u just interrupted me from getting these guys their drinks so let me know is this a separate issue?” So I was SHOCKED and I said uhh we’re not with those guys. And she scoffs and laughs at me saying “HA I KNOW you’re not with them!! SO WHAT DO U WANT” and I said “I just want to close my tab…” then she finally puts all our drinks together. Unfortunately, my experience at Dover Bar and Grill was extremely disappointing due to the incredibly rude and unprofessional behavior of the bartender on duty (her name was Dee—dark brown hair pulled back in a bun).

From the start, she created an unwelcoming atmosphere by harshly telling one of my friends they couldn’t bring in their water bottle—something I’ve never had an issue with at other bars. When I asked about the cider options, she responded with a negative, dismissive attitude that made me feel uncomfortable just for asking a simple question.

The tipping point came when we closed out our tab. I chose not to leave a tip because of the poor service and her treatment of our group. Instead of handling it professionally, she caused a scene by loudly and passive-aggressively walking back and forth, repeating, “I don’t serve drinks to people who don’t tip me!!” When we asked if she was referring to us, she snapped, “Yes, YOU!! We work off tips!!” This completely soured our night and made it impossible to enjoy the rest of our time there.

We were ready to continue ordering drinks and supporting the business, but her behavior made us feel disrespected and unwelcome.

To make matters worse, one of my friends ordered a burger that was bland, overcooked, and pretty much tasteless. The fries were okay, but definitely not enough to make up for the rest of the experience.

Also worth noting: there’s a $15 minimum for debit and credit cards, which isn’t posted very clearly.

We’re locals and had hoped to find a new go-to spot—but after this experience, we won’t be returning. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this one was well-earned. Hopefully management takes notice and makes some changes. A bartender’s attitude can truly make or break a customer’s experience, and unfortunately, Dee’s behavior...

This is By Far One Of My Absolute Favorites In The Mount Snow Area. I’d bet I get food from there or go in there at least 3 Times A Week. Let me start with the staff, who I absolutely adore. Every one of these young adult Vermonters Is Extraordinary. Much more responsible Than Myself at that age or anyone I knew. These people are definitely the best of Vermont, from the bartenders to the cooks and of course the awesome owner and his wife. This is the go to place after hours as well, happy hour, you name it. They have amazing live bands and comedy shows. I just love it here. Everyone’s having a great time and believe it or not , the food is DELICIOUS! You have to try the smash burger. You will NOT be disappointed and my new all time favorite and absolute staple for me is the tacos! Yes the tacos! Trust me! 😍The Shrimp, the beef , the chicken, the pork and the fish are all scrumptious. In fact I’m waiting on a to go order as I write this. I can’t say enough about this place. The best !!
