We retreated to this particular hotel after bringing our daughter out to celebrate her 13th birthday at the Sugar Factory restaurant located in Bally’s casino. I looked the hotel up online and saw that they had complimentary WiFi and breakfast. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The bartender and chef were great as well. My husband and I enjoyed a few drinks and a bowl of delicious beef stew. The girls enjoyed the pool and even though the pool area was under construction the facilities was kept and tidy. We slept well and the pillows and beds were very comfortable. Now this is where the stay went sour. We went down to eat breakfast we was approached by a worker who asked if we bought a breakfast package with breakfast. I advised her that we didn’t know we had to pay for a breakfast package. We stay with Hilton often and were Hilton Honor members and never had to pay for breakfast. I also advised her that we weren’t advised that we needed to online or at the front desk at check in. She said breakfast was $16.95 and I asked to speak to a manager. I’m not the “let me speak to a manager” person but in this case it was warranted. She advised me that someone would be in at 10. I believe there should be some sort of signage that says breakfast is a fee. I also believe first and foremost the team members need to be trained to tell guests this information on arrival. Read moreWORST HOTEL EVER!! First of all, three stars? HARDLY! There were stains ALL OVER the carpet, crumbs in the bed and MOLD in the bathroom! Second, we asked for a late checkout, as I was VERY sick, and as I was getting ready the manager actually came to our door ans threatened to “escort me out” if I wasn’t gone in 15 minutes! I have stayed in a LOT of hotels around the country, and I have NEVER been treated SO poorly! I went downstairs to use the ATM, and although several people were NOT wearing masks in the lobby, the manager singled ME out and told me to put my mask on NOW! I said, “I will put it on in one second, as soon as I check my balance.” He said, “No, you will put it on NOW!” Then when my fiancée asked if there was anything we needed to sign. The manager said, “Just GET OUT OF MY HOTEL, NOW!” I was in absolute SHOCK! How do they keep ANY clientele with this jerk as a manager??? The icing on the cake was the fact that I booked the hotel PRIMARILY for the indoor pool and spa, which I was NOT told was shut down until I walked to the front desk to inquire where they were located. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!! By FAR the WORST hotel stay of my life!! I’ve stayed in hotels that were not the cleanest, but the staff was accommodating and did their best to make sure the stay was as comfortable as possible. Read moreMy sister and I selected the Hilton Garden Inn Dover to throw our father a surprise 80th birthday party. We are both OCD so we started planning this bash 2 years before his 80th birthday. From the very beginning when we reached out to Hilton to inquire about the event space, Wendy was absolutely amazing! She was very responsive and went above and beyond answering all of our questions and our taking care of our needs. We want to give a huge shout out to the following staff members as they all went above and beyond to make this event special and also for making our stay so comfortable!
