I got here a little early, around 1PM and just wanted to take a shower to wash the soap scum from my previous hotel's soft water shower from my body.
Regretfully I was told that wasn't possible and come back later.
As I drove to the venue where our event would be I thought about if this was a Marriott, I am sure they would have suggested that I use a shower by the pool or fitness center, since it has been my experience that Marriotts seek solutions while Hiltons tend to be hit or miss (mostly miss).
I checked in later in the afternoon and took my shower (which was delightful). There were two extra bars of soap, and an extra bottle of conditioner. Unfortunately I didn't have time to test the TV or internet service since I had to get back to my event.
Fast forward 8 hours and I roll into in the room and need to decompress.
I turn on the TV and am now watching random pixels dance across the screen as it seems that the direct TV antenna is not functioning at all. Every channel, the same thing.
:-(
At least I have the free internet.
Nope.
It is going in and out, dumping me off, leaving me to have to reconnect each time.
:-(
I also like a thermostat that has a fan feature so I can have some ambient noise which drowns out the sound of tractor trailers and loud mufflered cars moving around outside of my window, but this one is one of those that times out rather than staying on all night. Nothing like random noise to lull someone to sleep.
I'm not sure what the morning breakfast will be like, if it is beyond exceptional, I may add another star.
If you are booking a room here, keep your expectations low and you should be ok.
With this location, you get to listen to every truck, souped up wanna be car, and dumptruck maneuver through the parking lots all night long.
And the reason why is that the "fan" feature on the air conditioner is as close to silent as you...
Read moreDuring my stay at the Hampton Inn Dover this past weekend, 11/26 - 11/28/21, I encountered poor customer service from Kevin Maloney, Front Office Manager.
On Friday evening after check-in, I called the front desk and requested my room to be clean the next day, Saturday, November 27th, and the lady assured me it will be cleaned.
As I was leaving out on Saturday morning, I saw the Housekeeper on the 4th floor where my room was, #414. I asked her if room 414 was on her list to be cleaned. She checked her list and said "it was not". I stopped by the front desk, waited for the gentleman (Kevin Maloney) to look up from what he was doing. He looked up, saw me standing there and never said anything such as "good morning", or "can I help you". He did not acknowledge my presence until I said "good morning", and then he said "how can I help you". I informed him after requesting my room to be cleaned, it was not on the list. He said "okay it will be cleaned".
After a long, cold day out shopping, we returned back to the hotel/room that night only to find our room was not cleaned. I went down to the front desk and voiced my displeasure. The front desk clerk was apologetic. I asked for cleaned towels and wash cloths and received it.
Because of what I encountered with an individual who bears a title "Front Office Manager" and who showed poor customer service, I will not stay at this hotel again. Mr. Maloney was not friendly when I approached the front desk; he did not greet me with a "hi" or "good morning", and did not say anything until I acknowledge why I was there. That is not how a "Manager" should operate. And on top of that, after requesting my room to be cleaned, it was not. Did Mr. Maloney informed Housekeeping to clean Room 414?
Very displeased with service coming from...
Read moreStayed at the Hampton Inn Dover Pa on Aug 6th, 2025. Accused of not paying pet fee upon entering hotel in sarcastic tone after just checking in. Then representative reviewed just completed check in to find everything was in order. Woke up in AM to get ready for a meeting and there was no water. Called front desk and representative stated, "It should be back on in one hour." One hour later called again and this time representative stated, "I do not know what time the water will be on." Knowing that check out was 11 AM stated I was not leaving until I got a shower. Representative did state at that time that was OK if we ran over check out time. Seeing that there was no way possible to get a shower and dressed to be out for my meeting left hotel dirty. When I approached the front desk and asked why alternative solutions where not provided the female representative in charge stated, 'We never thought of that." Requested a refund. No response back. Called hotel today same answer only this time given a line of BS that we could have stayed a extra night on them. I asked female in charge, "Was this ever stated to me?" Her response, "NO." An after thought to appease themselves. The owner of this hotel should be aware her staff is condescending and ignorant. How many people left that hotel dirty that morning? Unexpected situations happen it is a business's job to train their staff. To the owner of this hotel, This reward's member wants a refund. Excuses and after thoughts are not the way to...
