We wanted to add an extra night to our reservation, I called and they said they didn't have any nights available. I booked one night, same room with a third party. I called a few days before to be sure we would not need to change rooms, the female was not nice about it, said that we would have to give up that room and do a whole new reservation for the rest of the stay.
I explained it was a the same kind of room... and she rushed me off of the phone with a "i'm sorry we don't do that and you booked thru a third party) That was the only way to get an extra night.
We got there and the girl at the front desk explained they hoped they would not have to change our room, The manager walked up and did what he needed to do to be sure we could keep the same room. We already had family there and he arranged us to be near them, even tho we were just told no, they had no other rooms. He offered to upgrade us, but it would be the next day. We chose not to change rooms, but he did make arrangements to upgrade our family the next day. He went above and beyond for us.
The next day we went down for breakfast before we started a busy day in the parks. The guy working in the kitchen seemed aggravated as some people. I thought maybe it was just a bad morning. He had his music playing and the rest of the crew in the kitchen were working very hard.
We came in late.... the girl behind the desk just sat there on her phone, never acknowledged us at all.
Next morning, waiting on a elevator, a cleaning lady was in there, ( only her and a cart) and she moved up and said sorry wait for the next one and laughed. Next elevator was another cleaning lady with a cart, vacuum and she gladly shared with us... we made it a point to bring her a special gift ( and we also shared with others that worked there) we headed to breakfast, i asked the guy working if he had sugar free syrup, he pointed and said over there, i said that was a regular one and the day before they had small cups of sugar free, he said there, over there, those small cups were a mistake and they are gone. We ate and left and came back late again, that night was a guy, he was coming from the kitchen, never acknowledged anyone as well.
Next day at breakfast, the waffles were sticking back, the ladies tried helping but the guy came up and was not happy as it was making a mess. I guess he was not happy, and went back in the kitchen area and turned his vulgar music up louder.
We came in late again and talked to the girl behind the desk.. expressed that some didn't seem ok, she explained they were all new.
Next day, we headed for laundry, The laundry area was spotless and so nice, we headed to breakfast and Iris saw us and called us by name.. and we spoke with her for awhile and she was so kind.
Each day breakfast was good, our room was not the cleanest, it smelled sour in the kitchen, and there was some change under the chair, hair on the tub... but over all the room was nice, spacious and mostly clean. Air worked amazing and the elevators worked great.
We left for the day and came back and again no one greeted us, there was a sign at the front desk... no one was there.
Next day we had breakfast and a new crew was in... we grabbed luggage and headed to check out. My husband walked up to the counter and one of the ladies just rolled her eyes... so we had to wait for the next person. I explained to the next lady.. ( she saw her acting like this) that this is why our stay was not the best. The manager came out and he did apologize and offered in a a next visit to help us out, he was super sweet, he was there long hours and really did smooth things over for us. ( i also showed my phone record to show the time and day i called and they told me no rooms and now i would not be able to stay in the same room, because he wanted to address that with the person on duty. )
He handled it very well.
The hotel was beautiful, room, lobby and other areas... it's just the staff. It would of been nice to be treated with a little more respect... from some...
The ones who stood out the most was the Manager, and Iris.
I am not sure as a IHG platinum elite Member, i would stay again if things...
Read moreMy family and I stayed here for just 1 night. Our room was #104 which had a wheelchair accessible role in shower. The suite was large, but outdated. When you enter the room the kitchen is immediately to your left with an open floorplan into what we consider a living room. The kitchen had everything you needed to bring food to cook and appeared clean. There is a full size refrigerator and also a microwave hidden under the dining table that separates the kitchen from the living room. There is also a desk and a pull out sofa. The sofa was a beige color and was stained. I am not sure why hotels continue to put porous furniture in their hotels knowing how filthy they get instead of buying all wipeable items because God knows what substances get left behind. The room is mostly carpeted which is another bad idea for the same reason listed above and tile or laminate would make more sense, but.....who am I. There is also a foot rest and chest of drawers with a tv on top in the living room area.
Inside of the bedroom was a king bed. Near the window was a closet that did not open because it held the a/c which was very loud. The bed was comfortable and clean. A dresser with a TV is directly in front of the foot of the bed against a wall.
There is only 1 bathroom which is inside the bedroom so if travelling with others they would have to enter bedroom to access the bathroom. As you enter the bathroom the toilet is immediately to your right and a small closet is to your left. The bathroom has a small sink adjacent to the roll in shower. There are 2 shower heads and a fold down seat. The pressure was very low and the water would not warm past room temperature in the shower. I turned on the sink to see if that would help which did nothing. The sink water gets very hot. Whomever tiled the floor angled it so that water goes from the sower all the way to the back of the sink. And pools from wall to wall instead of going down the drain just outside of the shower. The floor was not clean and had stains and areas of dirt and grime. The base of the wall near the shower had gotten wet so much it had mold and appeared soft. The bottom half of the shower did not appear to be sealed properly with caulk which also looked moldy.
We had to request the toilet be fixed as soon as we arrived because it was making an awful sound and the toilet only had about 16 ounces of water and would not fill up. I went to the front and about 10 minutes later a guy came and had to replace a part.
They do provide a real crib if you have an infant.
They have free breakfast, but I had left over chinese food which I ate for breakfast. They have a soda machine that makes wonderful ice.
The staff...
Read moreFantastic stay! 10 out of 10! We have traveled quite a bit this year, and i can say that this hotel was by far the best we encountered in any state! The rooms are quite large and clean. We had a one bedroom with 2 queen beds (hard to find), and it was quiet! You could not hear much of what was going on in the halls from the bedroom. We were the first room past the elevators and had no issues at all! The staff! The staff is so friendly and welcoming! Our flight brought us to the hotel quite early, and we did not expect a room to be ready, but the staff worked to get one ready for us. They did not act put out by it but were thoughtful about it instead! Every time we walked through the lobby, the person working at the front desk would welcome you or tell you to have a great day. I needed to borrow a permanent marker, and they gave me one. The people working in the restaurant area are constantly making sure that everything is filled and warm and cleaned. There was one woman who was there nearly every day with a big smile on her face and made sure to tell us good morning and goodbye. My daughter thought she was so nice that she drew her a picture to tell her thank you for being so helpful and kind.|We booked this hotel for a competition at the Convention Center but had to not only go to the Convention Center but also ESPN World of Sports at Disney, and we had a day at Universal Studios booked for fun. The location was perfect for it all! Even with Convention Center traffic, we were able to make our 7:30 meet time without issue. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, a couple of supermarkets, and we made a Dollar Tree stop as well. We made great use of the full kitchen. We were only able to attend one of the Monday-Wednesday Social Hours, but there were free drinks, and the food was dinner, not just snacks. It was great! |While many hotels charge a ridiculous rate for parking, parking here is free, and there is plenty of space. The rate was best booking directly through IGH, so we did. It was a very good rate compared to what some of our teammates paid at other locations for less desirable accommodations.|Some have mentioned that the pool is a bit small. While I can understand that it may be considered small for the area, it was just fine for us. We went to it every day for at least a little while and had no complaints. There's nothing fancy about it. It's just a pool. But that's all you really need!|In my opinion, so long as the rate stays reasonable, this will be our go-to and where we recommend others...
