I had a reservation at this hotel and called a couple of days prior to my stay. When I spoke with front desk and asked if she could please check the reservation, she replied, “ I don’t know why people make a reservation and then call.” I stated I just wanted to make sure there was not a problem with the room when we arrived. She went on further stating that it does not make sense to check on a reservation. I did not call to be questioned on why I was calling, that is not your job. I also asked if the pool was open. I got, “I would not let my child swim with these temperatures, it is 50 degrees outside.” Again I did not ask for her opinion. I asked again if the pool was open and got, “as a parent I would not let my child swim.” The temp outside was in the 60’s and it was only 10:00am in FL.
Once at the hotel, the room had a terrible odor. The towels were stained, dirty and thin as paper. When I went to ask for a different set later in the evening, I was questioned from the other female working. I stated again the towels were stained, dirty and would like another set. She stated 4x’s, they are dirty. YES!!! They were dirty.
Breakfast is great to have when the eggs and sausages are not swimming in water. No milk the first day for the cereal, a tub of cream cheese instead of individually packaged containers. Very unappetizing. Lots of rumbles the others that were looking for something to eat also.
We did not eat breakfast there and left to go eat. After returning to the room, it was “cleaned”, not by far my definition of clean, the room was set at 86 degrees. I had the room at 67. It was a complete sauna in the room which amplified the smell even more,
I tried to call and ask to speak to the GM and the same lady at the front desk stated she could help. I would like to talk to the GM and got the same reply, I can help you. NO!! I would like to speak with the GM. I was told he will be back on Thursday. Left my number and will see if I get a call.
Very disappointed as the Howard Johnson’s where I am from, are...
Read moreNot what I expected, but not bad for one night. I like that you can pre check in and pre check out. The lady up front was all business which I get, but wouldn’t hurt to be hospitable. She didn’t put wifi on the room key slip, so I had to call in order to get it. There was two of us staying in the hotel and there wasn’t enough face towels or hand towels only one, but there was enough towels for the shower. The hotel room is clean, there’s some things I did notice though; the pillows are smaller than a regular hotel, and the bed frame is peeling. I did not notice until this morning that there is black mold at the top of the ceiling in the room I was in (102) above the bed, definitely covered by paint. The one thing I didn’t want my daughter to sleep in is a place with mold. I am so disappointed.
The good thing is I only stayed here one night, but if you’re wanting peace and quiet this is not the place. There is a lot of noise from the place next door to this hotel and noise from the people above us. So if you plan to stay here try to get a room on the second floor. Last but not least the wifi is null and void after a certain time, I woke up around 7 am and the wifi was off my phone. I tried to put it back in and it was invalid. Check out is not until 11 am, so guests should have access to wifi and amenities until we leave.
Manager (Jodi) sucks and is very RUDE! Told me she doesn’t have mold in her hotel, yes you do! Hence me leaving a one star now.
Granted I should have let the staff know, but if y’all put yourselves in a mother’s shoes you wouldn’t want anything to do with this hotel either. If I knew they had mold I wouldn’t had stayed here. Jodi didn’t even help me with my issue. Told me I left a crappy review. Which indeed I did....
Read moreThis place is so bad that it’s not even worth thinking about coming. The first thing I noticed was how rude the staff were to an immigrant who was having trouble with the language barrier. We just went to our room and took a shower. We realized that they had only given us one towel, so we called the front desk and asked if they could bring an extra one. But they asked if we could come get it because they were too busy. I had already undressed, and didn’t want to go get one. Luckily someone came with another one, but I couldn’t believe they had the audacity to ask us to come get one after not giving us more than one bath towel in the first place. Then I had trouble breathing in our room, because I have asthma, and we had booked a non-smoking room. I didn’t think they would do that to us. But they did put us in a smoking room and I had trouble breathing all night. The place was fully booked that night and I knew I couldn’t get somewhere else, but I didn’t find out that they had put us in a smoking room till the morning but I was wondering if someone has smoked in there even though they weren’t supposed to. But it turned out they put us in a smoking room. While my husband and I were packing up the next morning l saw dirty laundry in the bathroom behind the door from the people who stayed there last. Which made me realize that this place is really not clean, they just try to make it look clean. The photos of the hotel when booking were very misleading, this place is very dirty, and there is horrible...
