If from Ohio and Northern Kentucky you know what to expect. While this is not a legacy chain from the Buckeye State, this is a local place trying to do some of that famous Cincinnati Style Greek Chili over pasta, on dogs, on tators, and in burritos. Did they get it right? They did. The chili is straight up Greek Style Chili and fits the niche. I prefer the slightly sweeter chili from Skyline on some items and I prefer this chili here on others. I prefer the hot sauce at Skyline always since it is hot. The hot sauce here does not have the kick of heat, it's too mild. What do I like better here? The hotdog itself. The dog here is much better quality and it's nice to have a full size dog versus the half sized low quality dog the other place serves. And while I prefer the sweeter chili of Skyline as a topper on hotdogs and spaghetti, the chili here goes better in the burrito, on the fries, on the potato. I also prefer the actual fries here over Skylines fries as well. So final verdict. It's a draw! Give both this place and that legacy competitor 15 minutes to the south both a try. Then decide which you prefer. Both give you exactly what...
Read moreI wanted this to be good, Cincinnati-style chili. It just isn't. It's not as good as Dixie Chili, Skyline, Empress, or even Gold Star. Tastes a bit like Price Hill Chili, which is also underwhelming. It's bland, and while the consistency is close, the flavor isn't, which I'm bummed to say. The young man who waited on us was great. He was the only one in the store on the night we visited, and hustled hard. I understand the owners tried to bring a Skyline franchise down and couldn't get it done (likely because of the owners already in FL), but using a copycat Gold Star recipe from the internet isn't working either. I'm rooting for you guys, but the recipe is wrong. Go talk to the Sarakatsannises in Erlanger and see if you can bring Dixie...
Read moreIt's our first time here but we're very familiar with Cincinnati style chili. The chili here is less over powering with sweet and allot meater than their competion in Clearwater. It's very close to Gold Star chili up north. I had a 3 way chili spaghetti and in the future knowing it's flavor I'll go with 4 or 5 way since those were my go to with Gold Star. My wife had coney's and a big difference is the hot dogs are larger than the competition so she only needed to order 2 instead of 3. Over all we both really enjoyed this style being avaliable. For take out they have a drive up window. Veteran discount is available and they have a rewards program that the competition recently did away with. So we'll...
