My family, and I had a wonderful experience here. Everything was good….From the customer service down to the amenities!! I will say the exterior of the building is a little outdated, and it does look like some work is either being done, or going to be done within the parking lot. However, once you get inside all is well. We were in town visiting my kids who attend Central University. The location was perfect! It was literally about 5-7 mins (less than 10) away from the school. Right on hwy 55. As soon as you get off the exit (from 40) it is pretty much right there. It is kind of hidden from the road though. So you have to really pay attention, or you will miss it. For me, I liked that it was sort of secluded. You don't have to worry about fighting traffic to get in, and out! The customer service was great! Especially JAMES at the front desk! He was awesome!!! His personality was wonderful!!! Doubletree/Hilton give that man a raise, vacation, or something (lol). Our room (614) was nice as well. We stayed in one of the rooms that had a separate living room with 2 beds in the room. There was a door to separate the rooms. Everything was working so there was no need to call down to the front desk! The amenities located on the property were nice as well. They had a swimming pool area that was indoors, but had a door that leads to the outside pool area. Lots of seating is available outside as well. They had a basketball area that doubles as a tennis court. They also have an outside volleyball court. They have a little lounging area where you can hang out too. There is also a lake located by the pool area. The fitness room was nice, and clean. My son approved! The elevators are very spacious. You don’t have to worry about anyone breathing down your neck. The restaurant was nice. We ordered the crispy chicken wings, grill cheese sandwich, and some fries. All of it was good. The staff at the front were very nice. I didn’t get the lady’s name who took our order nor did I get the young man’s name who took our order to the cook. They both were very pleasant!! All in all we had a good experience. However, I do have one concern/ issue . I booked online at the last hour using a third party (Expedia). I already had a card linked with Expedia that was through Klarna. The card on file was not the same card that the hotel used. They actually had me to use my bank card (upon check in) which placed a hold for the entire amount on my card. Although the money was there, I didn’t really want to use that method of payment because I already had another card on file with Expedia. I’ve done hotel reservations before using my Klarna/Afterpay accounts, and I’ve never had this issue. I’m not sure what happened this time. Other than that lil hiccup everything else was top tier.
P.S. I do have one suggestion…Some type of fencing/barrier needs to be put in place by the lake. Especially for someone who has small children. Some little lights around that area (at night) would be good too. It’s a little dark...
Read moreI have had a good experience staying here. I will first say that the location is located and situated in-between an office park and apartment residential area. The thing that I can't stand is the location. Having divided my time between living in the city and in the suburbs, I'm accustomed to having a walk ability factory and easy access to everything within a 1-2 mile radius. Just know when being out here you'll have to drive everywhere and be prepared for that(which I wasn't) I'm giving this location 2 stars. There is however a lake in the back of the hotel which makes it a little bit better. Another thing I wanted to add is, this location had some of the rooms recently renovated but don't expect to find a kitchen to use. A total waste of space for just having a mini refrigerator a sink and an island prep area. What a waste of a potential good space. Also some of the 2 bedroom suites don't have 2 bathrooms, only one bathroom with a shower and the other one just a half bath. Those are the 3 main gripes I have about this property. The location, the no kitchen and the bathroom shower situation. Overall the staff is really friendly and accommodating. Aleisha made me feel welcomed as soon as I arrived. Also James goes out of his way to accommodate you. The room service is on par and so is the cleaning staff. Also when first checking in Aleisha with give a cookie which tastes like it came out of the oven. What a way to welcome someone upon their arrival. I would recommend this place if you don't mind the non walk ability factor, lack of kitchen and the...
Read moreCame to town this past Saturday for a friend's Bridal Shower. Decided to pay cash because I hate the "holds" that hotels put on Debit/Credit Card Accounts so I did not have a reservation. I chose this hotel because it's supposed to be 3-4 stars and it was less than 5 miles from the location of the party. Well they need to invest more money into soundproofing the rooms rather than granite counter and dresser tops. I could hear everything going on in the room above me, outside from the lobby, and outside in the tent (a wedding was going on). The wedding was over at 10 pm but the other noise continued ALL NIGHT LONG! I was in a Jr. "Suite" which consists of a large room (sitting area) with small furniture (just a love seat and chair; there was a ton of wasted space), a desk/table with 3 chairs, and a double bed in the other room that was separated by a cheap aluminum folding door!. The tub/shower leaked onto the floor even with the shower head being turned all the way in the opposite direction. I am 5'1" and had to duck to get under the shower head (it was removable but the height was not adjustable). When I checked out and let the person helping me know that I did not have a good night and would never stay at this location again all I got was "I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay" and she listed off some other hotels that are owned by Hilton. I came home and slept most of the day. I feel like I wasted $110 and should have just made the 2 1/2 drive home Saturday night. I won't make that...
