First time eating here at the Galleria location. I saw the Groupon, but it was sold out. So we decided to try it anyhow. We liked the atmosphere. Even though it was completely packed it didn't feel like. Felt pretty quiet. I liked the selection of food on the menu and was able to pretty quickly make a decision even though there were a lot of choices.
Callie our server came by and took drink orders. Which about 5 mins later came back again, because she forgot what we ordered because she didn't write it down since she had lost her notepad. Only ONE of us ordered a drink...
Since she was back I ordered a quinoa tabbouleh starter/side. This took quite awhile to be served. Which in the meantime she never came back to take our dinner order. When she did serve the tabbouleh, I told her we needed to order at that time. I wasn't going to let her get away. I got the Bison Burger (medium with chips) my wife the Quiche.
At this point my water was almost empty and my wife's was also. She didn't offer to refill. I ended up getting up and walking over the the server station, refilling my own glass and getting the lemons for my tabbouleh I had asked for earlier. While I am doing this Callie our 'server' comes up to me and asks again what I ordered. Because she said she had lost the paper which she had written our order on. She hadn't written order down on paper earlier... I told her again the Bison Burger (medium with chips).
The food was served in a timely manner. But the Bison burger I ordered came with a salad not chips. I didn't really want salad since I had just finished a good sized tabbouleh, but at this point I was too hungry to care and I really don't need fried chips. She also asked if I needed ketchup or salt and pepper. Which I asked for. I figured while I was waiting for that I would just eat my salad. Which was just field greens not much dressing. It was good, not great and the salt and pepper would have helped it out. I finished the salad, still no ketchup or salt and pepper. So I moved onto the burger. The first bite was great! Second bite, was all raw meat. I like a little red in my burgers, but not cold raw meat. Hoping she would come by soon I noticed another waitress at the cook's window complaining to them and her that her burger wasn't correct. Guess who had it? I don't blame the cooks, somebody ordered a raw burger just not me. Finally she did come back, I told her my burger was wrong in more ways then one. She took promptly removed the food, apologized in her Spicoli manner. Apparently she took an order too soon. And mine was still waiting there. The second burger came with chips and was cooked medium. The Bison burger was fantastic, very impressed would get again. This time with salt and pepper and ketchup. Which after eating it without, I am happy to say for the cooks ego it did great without the side condiments. My wife's quiche was really good quiche. I still would have to like to not having to get up and get my own water constantly.
Overall I would rather be writing a glowing review, but I can't. The food when ordered correctly was excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful and relaxed. But to be completely ignored and served or almost serviced incorrectly more then one just don't work. This would me make me not want to return again. Maybe if I can forget Callie the server I might be okay. Which I was I forgot 6th grade math when it comes to percentages. Normally I do 20% and round up slightly. Not tonight we went with the almost bottom of the barrel and not tip at all. We didn't do that. We didn't do the ol' 1 penny trick, or the single dime. I gave her just solid perfectly mathematical the epic 10% tip level. You were good enough to carry a plate and that was it. Don't engage in eye contact or in verbal communication.
Just say again, when the food came through it was GREAT, GREAT!!! Just work things out with Callie (Jeff Spicoli) We'll be back avoiding specific waitress. If i wanted that service I will go the Bad Waitress...
Read moreWe recently went to the new People’s Organic that just opened in Edina at Southdale and we were pleasantly surprised in every way! We have always enjoyed getting a quality burger from this restaurant, but LOVED our most recent experience the most! So much that I came on to give it a review.
The edina location has filtered water (huge perk to us health conscious folks)
there ketchup does NOT have high fructose corn syrup (thank you!!!)
the entire atmosphere and ambiance was so lovely. The Edina location has been completely re-built and renovated in a new location and it is on-trend, cozy, welcoming, and feels more up-scale than the lavender and sage colors of their former branding. A beautiful enhancement for sure! Great style and selection choices. Felt very peaceful and cohesive and stunning.
they have the most gorgeous wood grand piano that someone was playing soothing music on. It added a lot of enjoyment to the ambiance. Also looks stunning and complements the new aesthetic
Dylan our server was outstanding! Truly so kind and helpful and professional and goes above and beyond in everything he does. You can tell he enjoys his job and does it with excellence. He is a friendly, knowledgeable, personable, attentive, sincere, professional, and all around awesome. He is a rare find these days, don’t lose him. ;) We look forward to coming back to see Dylan and also sit in this new ambiance. It was peaceful and lovely.
You have really yummy skinny Sweet Potato French Fries, thank you!
My husband and I look forward to coming back, thank you for an enjoyable peaceful night and the beautiful majorly Upgraded...
Read moreThe sweet potato fries are absolutely BANGIN'. Thin shoestring-style (my favorite), lovely shatteringly-crisp exterior texture. The rest of my meal unfortunately was not as good. I had the "Grilled Rachel," which was local turkey, sauerkraut, swiss, and thousand-island dressing on wheat bread. Flavors were fine but the amount of meat I was given was frankly pitiful, maybe one to two cold-cut-style slices? And the bread itself was also quite thin and soft so it was just a very unsatisfying experience. Also ordered the "earth wings," which were hunks of cauliflower breaded and covered in sauce; nice idea, but unfortunately the pieces were so big that (a) they took FOREVER to cool and (b) it was extremely hard to tear a piece apart while keeping the breading on the cauliflower, since the cauliflower was essentially steamed inside the breading so it had that soft wet cooked-vegetable texture to it. Finally, I washed down my meal with what I ordered as a "hot cider" but what, when served to me, was actually hot apple juice: it was clear. I wasn't mad about it, and it was plenty tasty, but I do feel that in the US most people want the unfiltered cloudy stuff when they order apple cider. Anyway: I wouldn't be opposed to going back if I find myself in this area again, especially for the sweet potato fries, but I will personally stay away from the sandwich menu and the "earth...
