This company ripped me off so badly!

I have been a fan of Final Fantasy VII since I was a kid. Most recently, the new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released. Being a diehard fan I preordered the Collectors Edition back in October 2023 for a whopping 415.82USD (over 570$CAN).

Fast forward to the release date of February 29/24 - a week goes by and no updates on my package. Once I began to inquire about where my package was - customer service was virtually unavailable. I must of emailed upwards for 10-15 times before I finally began to get any responses. Square Enix blamed the courier and the courier blamed Square Enix. From what I could discern from my very limited responses from Square was there was a shipping label issue. I also read online that several orders with the Collectors Edition were affected all over the world. Eventually, after 2.5 weeks Square Enix blamed the issue on me, saying I gave them an incorrect address. I need to be very clear here, I have been shipping to said address for years, I confirmed and double checked and confirmed again that the address provided was correct - as I also use it several times a week for my business - there is no chance in hell that the address I provided was incorrect. Eventually, after over a month of trying to get a hold of someone who could help (with no success) some unbothered customer service agent (via email) informed me there was nothing they could do and that the fault lay with me. They told me I would be refunded minus the shipping. Then they abruptly shut down my inquiry.

I cannot express how disappointed and frustrated I am. As far as I am concerned - they robbed me for their screw-up. I have been a fan of this company since they were Squaresoft and of the Final Fantasy series and their other games since I was a kid.

Not only did I not even get a full refund (even of what they promised me), I never got my game. These people are awful to their fanbase and customers - I will never buy anything from them again.

I know this will never go anywhere - but I don't know what else to do. I am so angry about this entire process, especially the amount of money involved (and lost) and the beyond terrible customer service. Maybe at least, i can prevent someone from making the mistake I made with these crooks. Vent at the bare minimum.

I don't even wanna play the game anymore - this has left such a bad impression.

Been trying to get TWO FFXIV issues resolved since 2017 and neither have been resolved after posting in forums, talking to in game GM's, been disconnected on by GM's in game before I was finished typing and even asked them to please stand by as I type, my posts in their forums were deleted because I was giving negative (but polite) feedback about a specific GM, they either silence my posts where I can't respond to them or delete them or move them to an unrelated category so I don't get the help I've been asking for, and they won't let me speak to a supervisor even though I asked repeatedly. They kept giving me the run-around 'Someone will be contacting you" but they never do! With customer service like this, I am canceling my subscription and letting every place on the internet know how I was treated and couldn't get any resolution! I'm done being polite at this point. My relaxation time for gaming is not worth...

The game’s development staff (FF XI Online) has always been notoriously and habitually silent on virtually every aspect of the game. This lead to strange myths such as improved crafting results being influenced by facing a specific direction at a specific time of day, on a specific moon phase. In actuality, the most solid information has come from data miners and people with enough time and knowledge of mathematics to derive damage calculations using various testing methods. Without third-party tools and their default plugins, the game never gave players basic information such as how the success rate of a Beastmaster’s Charm abilities and duration was tied to its Charisma statistic.
