We stayed primarily at Comfort Inn/Suites throughout our two week Alaska adventure. The only place we had any issues with is the Comfort Inn Fairbanks.||We had booked two stays. One night prior to a tour we were taking and two nights upon our return. When we arrived to check in for our first stay we were told that we had already checked in and been given a room!!! This was obviously incorrect as we were standing in front of him. At every other lodging on our trip I was asked to present my drivers license why was that person’s identification not checked? After a call to the manager we were given a different room right next to the elevator, which chimed at least three times every time it opened its door. You might say I’m picky, but as a Choice member I specifically ask not to be placed next to the elevator for that very reason. Back down to the front desk where the person who was checked in as me (a male!) was talking to the registrar. When I explained my problem with the room he looked at the account and said I never should have been given that room to begin with and quickly gave me another. He also added that he was very sorry for all the inconvenience and would speak to his manager about some compensation. Don’t be surprised but nothing came of that!||Fast forward 3 days and we arrived back at the hotel to check in for our two night stay. I wasn’t expecting much in the way of recognition for our previous issues but was absolutely dumfounded to be given a room in the basement, in the housekeeping and laundry hallway, where I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the staff lived. All day there were carts semi-blocking the hallway and staff seemed “inconvenienced” that we need to get to our room. At one point I was reprimanded for walking on a floor that a man was washing it was on the way to our dungeon room. Perhaps a coincidence that shortly after settling in our room someone (that person perhaps) was in the room next to ours BLASTING rap music for 30-40 minutes. They then left and we didn’t hear any sound from that room the rest of our stay.||As a Choice member I was appalled at the way we were treated at this lodging and would not recommend it to anyone! The rooms were by far smaller than any other place we stayed for our entire trip and they are ready to give your reserved room to anyone that walks in the without checking...
Read moreMy husband and I had never stayed at Comfort Inn. I booked this through Delta Air Lines' Cars and Stay Program since I am a Million Miler with Delta. We arrived a few minutes after 2 AM having flown from the day before from FL, MN , WA. I am a new Choice member. We were assigned the last room on the 2nd floor(230) where the stairs were. We heard footsteps and rolling suitcases all the time. The air conditioner was very noisy but we did not turn it off because I have a breathing problem and there were forest fires all around. We left the "Do Not Disturb" tag on the door the first 3 days. We requested full service on June 24th. When we got back that evening, the room was not clean.|The dirty towels were still on the bathroom floor.|The trash cans were still full. The receptionist acknowledged that there was a request to have our room cleaned. Nothing was done. Our room was never cleaned the whole time we were there. |The bedsheets were never changed!|The receptionist from Bulgaria was nice. Amanda Louise Tinnel was the best staff member there. She worked in the dining room. Breakfast was free but it was not appetizing. . They had bacon one day but it did not look good. I opted for the fruit, orange juice and boiled eggs in plastic bags. I had to eat something as I am on insulin. When we checked out, I asked for a receipt. The guy said that since I reserved through a third party, they could not do anything. I was not able to give my Choice membership number.|This hotel cost us $300 a day. We travel around the world and have not been treated that way.|We are both retired senior citizens. I sent an e- mail to Delta Air Lines informing them of our bad experience. I do not recommend this hotel. I will not stay in a...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Comfort Inn on Airport Way for 10 days. The pictures provided by the hotel are a true representation of what I experienced. The hotel is very clean, with modern fixtures and working technology, lights, heat/ac. The staff were always friendly and patient with guests and the cleaning crew were great. The bed was very comfortable - not too firm/soft.The showers were hot, even in the morning when most people are using water. The breakfast was your typical continental with choice of eggs/meat, biscuits and gravy, waffles, breads, muffins, cereals, yogurts and a variety of juices, teas and coffee. There was always fresh fruit available as well. The fitness center has a treadmill, weight bench, bike, and stair stepper as well as a water bottle refill station - which I used daily. The parking lot has plenty of spaces and is very well lit. I felt safe going in and out of this hotel. It's also in a central location within the city, a few minutes from the university and just a mile or so from the downtown Fairbanks area. I was a solo traveler visiting my college student and this hotel was extremely comfortable and affordable. Would recommend the king room for solo travelers...
