Great staff/manager (Daesong (대송)?) who were friendly. Felt very safe for a solo female student. Shared kitchen, clean rooms, plug-ins for winterized vehicles, manager easily contactable, good enough internet for work/play/communication. Deluxe room is good for a couple or a small family, single room is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. Good distance from campus and town as well.
Great price for a place I think is better than Pike's or the Hamilton! You're not paying for fancy furniture, you're paying for a comfortable and clean place. I and anyone else I know will come here if someone needs to stay some time in Fairbanks. It is not a tourist attraction place, which is nice for me (Alaskan resident). If you are from out of state, you may want to get a more alaskan themed hotel.
Please note, pictures are of deluxe room, having two beds (seperated by door). Ignore my mess please.
Only negative is road noise, but earplugs are more than enough to cover any night noises from...
Read moreI stayed in the Borealis Inn for several nights on a visit to Fairbanks. The room worked out wonderfully for me because I needed a clean, safe, accommodation after being out all day on tours and sightseeing.||||Location: You can easily walk to Pioneer Park, the downtown area, and the shopping centers across Airport Way. There's a busy street below, but I didn't find the street noise bothersome. Parking is right outside the door. There's a gas station right next door for snacks, coffee, etc.||||Ammeneties: My room was very simple and small. There was a cable TV, free local telephone, mini-fridge, air-conditioning, and a spacious bathroom stocked with soap/shampoo dispensers. Coffee and microwave were available in the hallway outside but I didn't use either.||||Quality: Everything was clean and in working order. They came in every other day to replace towels and make the bed.||||Conclusion: I would...
Read moreThis wonderful hotel only received a 2-Star rating, due to facility size, I image, but I was met with 5-star quality service, and a price that simply can't be beat! The reception area is also a lovely florist's boutique, and despite arriving much earlier than the usual check-in time, I was met with quick and courteous service. My room was prepared for me (and I volunteered to help bring the mattress back in, it was being aired out and Febreezed) in no time at all, and I was soon comfortably situated. One negative note was that there were none of the little commodities we expect from a hotel, ie soaps, shampoos, etc., but in all likelihood, this was due to my early arrival and somewhat rushed preparation of the room. I recommend this hotel to all my friends, and anyone looking for a fantastic Alaskan experience at an...
