Airport Way Restaurant — Restaurant in Fairbanks

First let me say, ive been coming here for about 15 or so years. Sometime after my wife and i were married in 2006 we went out to dinner here. The owner was always very nice. He said “how are you young man, and who is the beautiful lady” i said, shes my wife, we were married a few months ago. He said “congratulations, dinner is on the House”

Been coming every since.

But about a week ago. My brother and i came here for dinner. I have always kidded around with the waitresses. All very clean, but i like making people smile. So anyway, my brother and I both ordered cheeseburgers and fries. I ordered mine fries separate, and burger to go. Well, this one request of mine was meant with extreme disdain right from the start. My brother ordered his to stay. We both ordered tarter sauce for our fries. We was very upset when she went to place our order.

She returned with our food, and no tarter sauce. She asked if there was anything else we wanted, rather rudely. My brother and I said just the tarter sauce. She spun around with a grunt and went and got one tsrter sauce. She said sarcastically, anything else. I said miss, one more tarter sauce please. She grunted again with anger and left. Not a word. About five or so minutes later, the old skinny blonde gal, the one that is always hacking, came back to our table with the tarter sauce and threw it across the table. It had some red pasty streaks in it. Thank you we said, she spun away. Of course, my brother and I ditched the tarter sauce. Our waitress came by several times serving coffee refills, she ignored us every time and served everyone around us.

I tried giving the benefit of the doubt. Tried thinking if there was anything bad i or my brother had said, nothing.

I came in today to order dinner. Again, i got this waitress. She again was very rude. She actually sent someone else to serve me.

I don’t want her to loose her job, but she needs a talking to by the owner, thats for sure.

I do recall my brother and I discussing a topic on OAN Network on the tv. My only guess is she took offense to our political beliefs. I don’t know??

I will continue to come back, but I will refuse service from the short gal with the arm tattoos and the old lady that hacks all the time. Other than that. Its a great place, always has been. Still deciding wether or not to speak with the owner.

Thats why it gets four stars...

Stopped by after taking my son to the ER in the middle of the night as it was the only place open and I was in desperate need of some coffee. I'll break this down by what I ordered and what I got. Before I received the food I came to find the prices they charged me were different than what was on the menu, 8.95 for a side of bacon when the menu read 6.95. All my items were more expensive than what the online scanned version of the menu showed. Onto the food.

Western Omelette: Solid 3.5/5 tasted good, hefty portion and hit the spot, the hash browns were okay as well.

Coffee: 1.5/5 this coffee tastes like it had been either in the pot for 6 hours or the pot has excessive burnt coffee remains that the flavor of which is leeching into newer batch's. The coffee was hot and I was given warning that it was, but I got impatient and singed my taste buds so I didn't have to endure the bad flavor for much longer.

Bacon: 3/5 cooked how I like it more chewy than crispy, but only four strips for that price seems a little ridiculous.

Pancake: 2.5/5 A tad overcooked and not very fluffy. Standard mediocre pancake I guess.

Not sure I would eat here again as the final price really put my whole experience off, I understand if the prices changed but if that's the case they should upload the new menus with those prices, it's 2022 a quick snapshot with a phone is all it takes. Decided to take my kids out to eat here. This would be the third time we have eaten here and every time the food has been horrible. But I decided to give it one more chance bc I know restaurants have their bad days. I work at a diner so I totally get it. We ordered nachos, the waffle breakfast, the kids pancake breakfast, hash browns and the French toast combo. Nachos were absolutely delicious but the waffle and pancakes were absolutely horrible. Way over cooked and tasted rubbery. My kids love pancakes and they refused to eat them. The bacon wasn’t very good either, the bacon tasted old like it had been sitting all day. French toast was soggy and the links were way undercooked. The eggs were ok not the best. I’m not the one to leave bad reviews but the food definitely has to be the worst food I have put in my mouth. I would be lying if I said Our entire experience was bad bc the customer service definitely deserves 5 stars. Our waitress was very kind and understanding. She took off everything we didn’t eat from the bill. Definitely amazing service just horrible food. Not the waitresses fault by no means.
