Prior to arrival my to the hotel the service was great. I called in (3days prior)and asked if they provided decorations or would allow an early check-in to decorate the room for my daughters birthday. The associate told me that early check in was based on availability but she would put a note in to block the first room available. She also informed me that early check in would start as early as 10am. She also assured me that this has been done before and shouldn’t be a issue. I arrived to the hotel on Saturday morning at 9:30am (a little early) I headed in to check in and was told no rooms were available but housekeeping would start cleaning rooms after 10am. I told the front desk young lady that’s fine my family and I would do eat breakfast and come back. We went back to the hotel around 11am and was still told no rooms had yet become available. I asked were there any check outs for the day and did she have around a time a room would be available so we wouldn’t just sit around waiting. She informed me that would get the housekeeping manager and that a room should be ready within the next twenty to thirty minutes. I obliged went outside to my already anxious kids and decided to let them out the car to stretch their legs. We waited about another hour outside and went in to check again so that we could get ready to go Six Flags it was already now 12:30pm. I went inside to check again and was told again the room was ready. At this point I was over it! My kids were in the car/outside in the sun just waiting for now 3 HOURS!!!!!!! I decided to not let this hotel get the best of me and get my three children in the bathroom and change their clothes so that we could head to six flags. We all changed and I told the front desk young lady that we would check in after we had visited the park because I couldn’t wait any longer. She was very apologetic and I tried my best to be understanding. We left the hotel and spent a great day at the park but very nervous about our belongings in the car trunk. We headed back to the hotel at 9pm and were greeted by a full parking lot (cars parked illegal blocking the entry way to the lobby) I instantly thought we weren’t going to be able to check in. I walked in to check in and was able to without much problem but did notice a party was being held in one of the meeting spaces( hence the parking) We headed to the room which was clean and went to bed. The next morning we headed down for breakfast at 9:10am. This breakfast was a sight for sore eyes. First the breakfast options were halfway depleted once we arrived. I began to make my children plates and noticed they were getting low on eggs. I set my children down to eat and went back to the buffet station to make my plate. The eggs were now gone because clearly there are other guest at the hotel getting breakfast. I went to ask for more eggs at 9:30am. The front desk manager told me they would take twenty minutes. I told her no problem I’ll wait as long as my kids are eating I’m fine. I sat and let my kids eat and waited about 25 minutes then saw the front desk manager clearing the buffet station (breakfast was over at 10am) The front desk agent came over to me because she saw I was still sitting at the table with my daughter and I told her no I was still waiting. I then when to ask the front desk manager who told me to wait 20 minutes about the status of the eggs. She then told me I asked her about eggs at 9:40 and breakfast is over at 10am. Let me remind you I had been sitting in the dining area waiting for eggs that had never been cooked. NOW AT THIS POINT IM LIVID! You are the manager on duty the least you could have done is communicate with the guest what’s going on. Oh let me not fail to mention the trash cans were over filling with plates and cups and in the 50 minutes that I spent sitting in that dining area nobody came to change the trash cans or refill any food. This has least been the worst experience in any...
Read moreThe hotel itself wasn't horribly bad, but the front desk service was bad and breakfast was a bit disappointing.
The room was comfortable but the air conditioning in room 404 sounded like bearings were failing as there was lots of clanking and grinding whenever it would spin up to engage the compressor. I would have asked for another room but the front desk person was abhorrent bad at check in that I didn't want to risk not having a room on a reservation made a month earlier.
Breakfast was below mid, barely kept stocked at 8.30am on a Saturday with the items of what they did put out. Bananas were bruised and beyond ripe...no breakfast meat, would put out 1 or 2 sandwiches at a time in 30 minute intervals...and not much of a bread selection.
So the main issue I had was with the front desk. I checked in on app earlier but needed keys for my wife and daughter too. At arrival check in the desk was empty so I politely called hello to get "help". The lady took the usual of my id and credit card for verification but then sat keying in all the info from my id....I knew this when she got asking about my phone info. I reiterated that I just needed to check in and get room keys. She provided my keys and then stated my total to be about $40 higher and tried to reason that it was the state taxes, I asked for clarification and she said she didn't know how Georgia state taxes worked but it was different for different people. I pressed for more info as I was showing my reservation to be a total including taxes and fees. She gave an example that the rate was the same but there were tourism taxes and hospitality taxes and etc. And said if I was a member I'd have a discount or 'like if you had the explorer' rate. It's midnight so I ask for more about what is an explorer rate.....ohh you have to be an employee. So I asked for the GMs info as I let her know she what she was attempting to do of creating a new reservation and charging me at current rates was likely against their policy and grounds for law suit if shes been doing this enmasse to others and claiming its different taxes for different people. This just happened last night but the interaction ended with letting me know "I could go now". She did try to walk it back home stating the fee difference was for recharged incidentals...not a hold a charge per her.
Not sure I'd recommend this location and I'll be communicating my experience as id certainly want to know how my guests are...
Read moreChecking-in and out was a breeze and the front desk agents were friendly. Fairfield offers breakfast, but I did not get up early enough to try it. They also have a fitness room and an indoor pool. While there were other people in the pool, it was too cold for my partner to swim, so we didn't use it. The front desk also has a small convenience section. If you can, bring your own food/drinks as I found out a 20 ounce soda was 4 dollars when I went to purchase it. You can pay for these with a card or charge them to your room.
The room was a king suite. It featured a walk-in shower, microwave, mini-fridge, 2 TVs, sofa (that I believe pulled out to another bed), two small tables, and a desk with an office chair to work at. The TV has satellite. I don't remember now if there was an option to rent movies. There was also a partition that separates the desk/TV area from the head of the bed, which is nice that someone could work while not disturbing someone in the bed. I realize now that I forgot to get a picture of the TV, and if I recall correctly a dresser, at the foot of the bed.
I really can't think of anything to complain about the room. It was clean and felt like a lot of space for 2 people. It was nice having a sofa to sit at and tables to put our dinner on, instead of having to eat in bed.
Housekeeping did check on us about 30 minutes before check-out to see if we needed turn down service, even though we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door knob, and our room should have been flagged as getting checked out that same day.
Watch your GPS closely when you turn off the main road to get to the hotel, as there are two driveways close together. We had just returned from the Renaissance Festival, which I highly recommend attending during their season, and were both hot, tired, and hungry, so we missed the first turn. Both driveways get you to the hotel, but the second one has finicky automatic gates for a gated community, that still let you through to the hotel parking lot. It was only upon leaving the hotel that we realized we should have turned one driveway sooner.
I'm sure we will be back again next year for Ren Fest, and I would have no issues with staying at the...
