This was the worst experience at a Wyndham hotel that I have ever had! I reserved a suite with a hot tub for 12/15/23 for a little over $200. When I got there I could not check in. The staff said that the system was down and did not know when it would be back up. I left for a couple of hours to get dinner and drinks and returned. At this time there were families sitting with luggage in the lobby. The system was still down and still no word on when it would be back up. I was forced to go to another hotel in the area... no hot tub. I called Wyndham customer service and the gentleman cancelled my reservation at no charge and booked the exact same suite for the following night 12/16/23 at a rate of around $150 for the inconvenience. The system did not come back until the next day right before i checked in. As I was filling out the paperwork at check in the next day I noticed that it didn't say king suite so I asked if it was the correct room. They did not make my reservation for the suite with a jacuzzi but for a regular room... which was not a discount by the way. They told me in order to get the king suite (if it was available) they would have to charge me $300... which is even more than the original booking price! I was so frustrated, but my body was in so much pain from traveling that I needed that jacuzzi that bad. I finally went up to my room... it was beautiful. I began to fill the jacuzzi and I turned the TV on and it turned back off. Tried about 3 times before I called the front desk. The attendant asked me to pull the dresser from the wall and pull the power cord for a few minutes and try again. I did... same result. She came up to the suite to try it herself... it did not work. She told me I had to switch rooms to a handicap accessible suite with a jacuzzi so I did. I got to the suite that was directly above the original one but it was smaller and not as nice. The room was freezing so I went to turn on the heat and the unit in the living room would not adjust properly, but the one in the bedroom where the jacuzzi was at was fine. The TV worked though! I went to go start the jacuzzi and noticed that it was not as clean as it should be so I washed it out before I filled it for my soak. The water was not hot so there was no need to turn on the cold water for even temperature. I took a shower and when I finally got to relax in the jacuzzi with the jets on I saw little black specks in the water. At this point I was too annoyed to care. The next morning I cleaned out the tub again, filled it and ran the jets... again the black specs. Cleaned it out again and went to breakfast. The waffle was the only good thing down there. The eggs were patties that were halfway stuck in the tin they were in... the Grits had hard lumps in them... the entire display was unappealing. I went upstairs and ate my waffle and took one more soak... black flakes. They didn't even apply my AAA discount. This was such a...
Read moreAfter losing my unborn to an ectopic pregnancy and having to have the baby surgically removed, my family and I were devastated. My husband and I waited a little over a week before deciding to take our kids for a day of swimming to try & cheer them up. We called this hotel to inquire about their pool and to see if they served breakfast...we wanted to CONFIRM before making any reservations. The hotel receptionist confirmed our inquiries, so we decided to stay. We checked in around 7:30pm, & by 9:30pm we were having to calm the cries of our 3 year old & 7 year old girls because they had gotten dressed in their bathing suits only to be confined back to a hotel room. Not only was the pool closed, there was no breakfast the next morning. We also had issues getting help any assistance that morning because the front desk clerk was missing. There was no one around to help us, & the front desk was left unattended for at least half an hour. I made several attempts at CALLING as well, but there was no one at the front desk to answer the phones. Upon review of our receipt, we noticed a price discrepancy as well. Over the phone while doing our reservation the initial cost of the room was $73 & some change after taxes. But after getting the room, we were charged almost $90 for the room! After addressing our concerns with the manager Tom & his employee Mercedise (the lady who was supposed to have been at the front desk that morning)... We did not receive an apology, any empathy or compassion. We recieved words of DEFENSE, dirty looks, angry body language, unprofessionalism, and just an overall rude & offensive behavior. Due to the fact that I had already been going through a lot, I became angry and lost control of my tongue. I began to use profanity, so I was asked to leave, & they also decided it was best if I be escorted out by POLICE in front of my children...since I used profanity. I had already agreed to leaving, but I was still UPSET at the way I was provoked to anger when my initial plan was just to put a smile on my kids faces. I felt cheated out of my money, belittled, discriminated against because of our outside appearance. Let's just say, we weren't looking our best that morning, so that's the way we were treated... POORLY. The way we were treated was disgusting & unacceptable and being REWARDS MEMBERS we have NEVER had any negative experiences.... This hotel has officially lost our business and our trust. We have made a complaint over the phone and are waiting on a response from...
Read moreWell, where should I begin.., we arrived the evening of Feb 8 - my daughter and I were there to go to the Atlanta Apparel Mart from Gulf Shores, AL. We arrived around 900EST after a 6 hr drive. The staff was awesome at check-in... we get to our room and cannot get the tv to Work at all. It comes on, but nothing. We are so tired at this point, we just go to bed. Well, the pillows are like lumps of foam and the bed is absolutely awful. We just say heck with it and try to get some sleep. We get up on Fri and go to breakfast .. that’s another story... food is horrible so we leave and head to downtown Atlanta - we are originally from Atlanta as a side post. Anyway after a long and grueling day of purchasing for our boutique in Gulf Shores, we return to the hotel around 900pm totally exhausted. Oh, we report to the front desk as we leave about our TV and an seasoned gentleman said he would have it checked. Anyway we get to the room, still no TV and our toilet will not flush. I make a call to the front desk and a gentleman very promptly responds to our room - very courteous and fixes our toilet and finally gets the TV online. We again have the pillow and mattress issue. We get up on Saturday to again finish our purchasing expedition only to discover we not only do not have hot water- we have no water at all. After calling the front desk and told they will call us right back. Ok, we get up at 900am and discover all of this. Now I will say, we did receive a call back about 15 minutes informing us there was a water break, but we could go to a room on the second floor that did have water - now it’s 945 - checkout is 11 - we would have to move all of our stuff down One floor in order to take a shower. Not worth it. That was our compensation. We paid $91 a night for this experience. No offer of compensation. Needless to say, Wyndham we will never stay at any of your hotels again. Worst hotel...
