When I walked into this hotel absolutely EVERYTHING looked like a construction site. NONE of the community/public spaces were available and dust and construction debris was everywhere. The afternoon receptionist was incredibly short tempered with me and reminded me two times that Candlewood Suites did not have a restaurant hence the kitchens in each room. This was in response to my question whether they served breakfast, or had a happy hour like the Candlewood Suites in Jenks, OK.
None of the public areas had carpeting on the floors, just bare roughed out concrete and none of the walls were beyond the drywall state. The laundry and fitness center were both closed and were full of construction materials. The elevator took me to the second floor and I was again greeted by bare roughed out concrete floors painted an odd shade of blue. The walls were finished, but none of the thresholds were installed in the rooms. My room was nice, but the a/c began rattling at 2 am. I turned down the fan,but that did not help. I had to stuff towels under my door because the lack of a threshold permitted over 2 inches of light from the hallway into my darkened room.
The pantry/cupboard down stairs was bare and empty because according to the snotty morning receptionist, the contractors were planning on laying tile and I was reminded for the 3rd time that they provide kitchens in each room and I should basically be satisfied with that. I asked for an ice machine and was told there were only ice machines on floors 2-4. When I told the receptionist that the 2nd floor ice machine was not working, he explained they must have failed to hook it up to the water line. I was advised to go to the third floor instead.
I was charged full price for a hotel that was under MAJOR DEMOLITION and MAJOR RENOVATION. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
I asked who I could speak to about my complaints and was told that they were a franchisee and thus there was no one to talk to except the General Manager who was not available. I was given his card.
Shame on you, Candlewood. Your customer service reps were ill tempered and impatient. Your hotel was one big mess. I...
Read moreThe hotel is nice, some of the staff are decent. First off, we check in and the guy working the front desk immediately insinuates we're going to steal something. The room was nice and clean, the leather chair(not smart for a pet friendly room) was already starting to peel and the the reclining part was breaking, every single lamp shade was busted or ripped and holes had obviously been patched but not finished. The microwave handle was broken, the dishwasher had a piece that was broken and one of the stove burners did not work. So far I can live with all of this. But then, we noticed my son started having bumps pop up on his arm... in clusters.... of three... at first we thought nothing of it, maybe a mosquito from the park or something... but then it happened again on his rib cage, and then again on his face. Obviously by this point it's not mosquitoes, it's bed bugs. So we look over the sheets, bed frame etc and don't see any(they can literally live in electrical sockets) so we call the front desk and politely ask to be moved rooms because bed bugs are munching on my son's face. The employee agreed to move us... but that's when we met Beth and everything went downhill. This... female... immediately jumped to blaming us, implying that we brought them and when that just upset us she moved to BLAMING OUR CATS, yeah, got an attitude with us and asked who told us we could have cats there, then told me it was MY FAULT because I didn't let housekeeping in the room to hand me sheets and towels when we had not even been there for a week at the time. The rest of our stay was a nightmare, thanks to being harassed by Beth every week after. Funny thing is.. even though Beth swore it was flea bites(I have pictures) from our cats(they were on preventative) once we were moved rooms....we never had another bite☕👀like I said, the hotel is nice, some of the staff are nice but if you value peace and privacy.... not for you. They let themselves into my room so many times, they don't care if you're in your underwear or passed out...
Read moreMy son and I arrived from KC to Fayetteville the evening of Wednesday 6/12 and due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to stay where our original reservations were made. The entire city and neighboring towns were booked at full capacity and after 8pm, our window was closing for any options. Many calls and drop ins to hotels in the area, we were on the verge of being without a place to stay for the evening (and for the duration of our trip through Sunday). The woman working 6/12 (evening shift) allowed us to sit in the lobby while continuing our search. At the point of giving up, little did I know she was working to help and she approached us with a solution for the evening. A room was released (for the night) and thankfully my son and I had a place to stay! With her recommendation, first thing in the morning I met with the woman working day shift (6/13), explained our situation and she too was on the hunt for a room for the duration of our trip.
Thankfully, one became available and after a quick room change, we were safe and secure! I only wish I had written down both ladies names, they went above and beyond for us, checked in on how we were doing throughout our stay. Courteous and allowed me to talk through my frazzled situation with compassion and understanding.
Although the main spaces of the hotel are under renovations, the hotel was very clean, quiet and the construction did not render any issues or concerns for us. The construction crew was polite and kept the spaces clear of equipment and congestion. The housekeeping crew was friendly, helpful and did a great job too!
In a time where customer service feels lost, the ladies at Candlewood in Fayetteville restored my faith in customer service and I have been singing their praises to everyone I talk to.
If I'm ever back in Fayetteville, there will be no question of where I will be booking my stay at!
Thank you again to both of...
