Mattress Firm Amelia Island — Hotel in Fernandina Beach

Dimitri at the Jacksonville office was a great sales person but when it came to follow up he just dropped the ball. he said it was because his manager criticized him and he thought that I didn’t want to complete my order. However I thought my order was already complete. I was just waiting for a confirmation on delivery.

I paid for delivery and set up . The delivery guys did not install my mattress; they did not put the mattress pad on the mattress; they told me that it needed to stand up for a couple hours and therefore I could do all that stuff myself! I thought that was why I had to pay for delivery and “set up ”! They also had clearly dropped or rubbed the packaging on a lot of dirt and they got dirt on everything.

The real shocker however was that these bumpers that were supposed to act in place of box springs we’re literally just a couple pieces of wood covered in a paper fabric and were not big enough to span my king size supports!! I felt that there had been terrible misrepresentation.

Then when I slept on the mattress it was not as firm as represented to me. I supposedly was given an upgrade and one of their best grades of boxed mattresses—Supposedly comparable to Nectar which I was planning on buying. Also, it was really hot and I had been assured by the salesman that their mattress had the same type of cooling technology that Nectar had. I went out and bought a whole cooling pad and I’m still not totally satisfied.

I am/was well versed in the store located in Fernandina Beach as I have purchased many mattresses in all sizes from this location. Today was by far one of the least experiences I care to remember. I know a lot has changed since COVID-19 came in to existence, but this store might as well combine with the Yulee location to save its image and existence. There was a lack of desired mattresses in the store on display. The sales professional was a bit overwhelmed as there were several customers shopping, delivery personnel was trying to wrap and move out sold mattresses to be delivered, and still more customers coming through the door. I am so thankful the telephone was not ringing. People are tired and want a good night’s sleep🥰. I did however end up purchasing a mattress and box spring to be delivered next week. I just pray all goes well. The sales professional, even though overwhelmed, was very kind and somewhat helpful. Given time I pray this location turns around for the location it once was. It may be too soon after reopening from COVID-19 for me to give a fair review of my experience. I hope the mattress delivery and the experience is a great one. Stay tuned! I was totally dreading looking for a new mattress. We walked into this place and it was just so cutely decorated for the holidays. I met the store manager I think his name was Steven. He was absolutely great! Very very friendly. He got us on the different colored beds to decide what we needed. I thought I would like a pillow top but boy was I wrong. We ended up getting a firm bed. It is the best bed I've ever slept on. The whole process was so easy and we didn't want to buy right away and Mr. Steven was not pushy. Him not being pushy went a long ways with us and we decided to go ahead and come back the next day. Mattress Firm is definitely doing things right!
