It's been a while since a hotel has split my opinion so much. This is a lovely clean 'modern' building with friendly staff, an okay breakfast, and some creepy rooms.
There's so much to love about the whole Hilton Honors experience. The self check-in, pick your room from the app, room keys on your phone, phone app checkout. Love it.
The hotel itself is a new modern brick style building. I was welcomed warmly and enthusiastically, and shown the elevators to the 4th floor. I tend to arrive after 10pm, but it wasn't an issue.
The entry way, business center, elevators and hallways are bright, modern, super clean and a step above the average in the area.
The rooms are going to be hit or miss depending on your personality. I had room 401, top floor a long way from the elevator and hopefully anyone else. Perfect. Phone app door key worked flawlessly.
The room was a cross between a hospital room and a student dorm. The bathroom was beautiful, modern, spotless (seriously, the cleaning staff here need a special mention), and welcoming. Towels in pretty shapes, toilet roll stamped, makeup remover and lotion. Shower head was fixed. Pretty common, but annoying if you don't want wet hair and forgot your shower cap. That's on me.
The kitchen area doesn't have a stove top, you're going to be microwaving dinner or ordering in. There's a very nice dishwasher for the 6 plates. The fridge is fine.
The room itself. Ugh. It looks like it's been designed for a nursing home, or a hospital or something. One very bad picture, waterproof furniture, and cabinets that don't make sense. They're just open boxes on the wall. Just put some shelves up or something.
In the middle of the room is a ceiling rail with a very dodgy curtain. If you've ever been on a hospital ward, that kind of dodgy. It just doesn't make sense. Neither does the other dodgy curtain to hide the ironing board. The rest of the furniture has doors.
I assume the point is to divide the room if you cram 4 people in there. But you could also have hospital PTSD and not sleep all night. Ah well.
A/C is bearable. Bit noisy but had worse.

Read moreDear Sirs,
I have been staying at your hotel for several months now, and I would like to sincerely express how much I have enjoyed my time here. The place is truly delightful. Walking along the River Walk is a wonderful experience, the breakfast is excellent, and there are many exquisite dining options nearby, perfect to enjoy with family—I am certain everyone would be delighted.
However, I wish to report a concerning situation I recently witnessed during my stay.
While the housekeeping staff was cleaning my room, I overheard the supervisors addressing an older woman in a disrespectful manner. Her face showed deep exhaustion, yet she remained kind and professional at all times. She confided to me that such mistreatment from Merlene and Mariana is constant, and that many employees have resigned because of it.
What worries me the most is that Anita, who seems to be in charge, does not take any action on the matter. According to what I was told, she never listens to the staff, and Merlene manipulates her with lies that allow her to continue acting with impunity. Anita seems to believe that Merlene treats the team well, but that is not the reality. This dynamic has created a tense and unhealthy work environment, which undoubtedly also ends up affecting the guest experience.
At first, I left a note with these comments in the room, but I doubted it would reach the right hands. For this reason, I decided to write formally through this channel, in the hope that the hotel’s management or owners may intervene and ensure that all employees—especially the housekeeping staff—are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Caring for the well-being of the team is not only an act of justice, but also a direct investment in the quality of service that we, the guests, receive.
Thank you very much for your attention, and I look forward to your...
Read moreI travel almost every week for work and this was my absolute fav stay! I felt like royalty in my awesome super clean huge room and I enjoyed every moment I possibly had the chance on the balcony. Everyone was so nice and the hotel was kept super clean and area felt very safe. The breakfast was delicious and had many options and I loved the healthy yogurt (only recommendations would be to not place croissants under the heater because they get too dried out and it’d be awesome if there were some berries or if the top of the breakfast covers would flip in a way to hold it open while your holding your plate and utilizing the tongs to grab your food). Recommendations on upgrades to this accommodation would be eventually an outdoor pool and an actual “kitchen” like a stovetop or even be the first with air fryers instead of just a microwave and frig but it will do just have to be careful not to get any food that can’t be prepared in the (radioactive) microwave which makes for a lot more heathy salads or going to the riverwalk for meals, etc. And I personally would greatly benefit from a blender which some “kitchenettes” have had and were greatly appreciated and utilized. The small Riverwalk was a very short jaunt from here with some great spots to check out and the river is lit up beautifully in the evening and I saw some stunning sunrises that really helped motivate me to get my day going. Thanks for such a remarkably wonderful stay! And I say this even after having an awful week because I dropped my phone in a lake (that was supposed to have a floatable waterproof case) while paddle boarding! Which is why it took me awhile to get to posting this but it was good enough to deserve taking a moment to say...
