DO NOT STAY HERE! Or atleast in room (213) We drove in from south Alabama so we could work the June jam Friday night we got there around 8:30/9 and had to grab a bite to eat so we could get up earlier for work came back after grabbing a bite to eat and brought our stuff up and checked for bed bugs in the mattress and didn’t see anything so we cut the lites off and went to sleep it was late had no lights on so obvisouly we wouldn’t be able to see ROACHES in the dark. Woke up early Saturday morning left our stuff in the room went and worked and got off around 11:30/12 Saturday night got to the hotel went to eat dinner and had a baby ROACH crawling on my leg I obvisouly thought I was crazy and figured maybe it was a spider or something from walking in outside. So I get a shower and everything and get crawled into bed and about 30 mins into us laying in bed ANOTHER baby roach comes crawling from being the night stand onto the alarm clock I panicked cause here’s the second one we seen so we killed it and started checking everything and ANOTHER ROACH crawls from behind the night stand we call the desk at this point so they know we aren’t crazy and he asked if he could come check at this point there was one crawling all around the night stand and he comes up there and he seen the one crawling and says “ohhh a small one” I DO NOT CARE IF YOU NEEDED A MICROSCOPE and he just smooshes it with his finger and said “I’ll leave a note” and walks out , here it is 2:30 in the morning we have worked 12 plus hours and we were so tired we didn’t know were else to go especially after spending 400+ for two nights. We go to check out this morning and the girl at the desk said we can get a 20% discount like are you kidding me. How disturbing there is no way in hell I will ever stay here again. The lack of care for the fact that baby roaches were crawling from behind the night stand is just unacceptable and we will be disputing the charges and contacting corporate with the pictures of the baby roaches I have. Thanks for nothing. (Adding pictures of them below may have to zoom in)

Nice hotel in the mountainous part of Alabama, in the town of Fort Payne. The room was very nice and the guy who checked me in was really friendly. The heater worked good which was a relief. In the morning, we woke up and went to the breakfast and most of everything was gone until a nice guy, without us asking, brought out more food. The breakfast consisted of normal stuff like pastries, bagels, yogurt, muffins, toast, and cereal along with some warm stuff including a waffle maker, sausage and gravy, and eggs. Pretty basic but was good for the cheap price we paid for the room. Big selection of channels on the in room tv along with a possibility of the small hometown theatre across the street and you might have something. They had a nice outdoor pool but since it was winter, it was closed. I say that for going and picking up a hobby van for me and my son to work on and having to go from Anderson, SC to Huntsville (westwards), that this is a good stopping point for rest. (Note that we were on the rush out and photos were taken in the morning before we left, so we did the bed an injustice by not having time to fully make it neatly and so forth)

If I could give a negative star rating, I would. I'm not sure what has happened at this hotel, but customer service was awful, but I wasn't allowed no visitors in my room. The breakfast had mod on my biscuits. I use to stay at this hotel once a month last year while working in the area. I'm not sure if they changed ownership or under new management, but whatever it is, I will not stay at this hotel again.

Do not stay here if you are a Choice Platinum member. The owner will not accommodate you. As a platinum member I can get a 2 hour later checkout. I stay at Choice properties quite regularly and spend a lot of money with this hotel brand to be a platinum member. I was in town for a funeral. The funeral was at 11 so I asked for a 1 checkout so I could come back and change out of my suit clothes before getting back on the road. I am from out of state. The clerk was very nice but he said he would have to call the owner but he was sure the owner would make me pay money to check out at 1. The clerk called the owner and explained to him I was a platinum member and that was one of the perks but the owner said "no way" and if I wasn't out he would charge me $20 to stay until 1 p.m. What's the point of having member perks if the hotel owners won't honor them? I filed a complaint with Choice hotels and the person there was very kind and said they would let the hotel know this isn't policy to not honor the member benefits. I guess it is up to each hotel owner to do whatever they want. I have friends in the area and I visit regular but I will never stay at this property again. Other than that the room and hotel was just ok. The quilt on the bed had several dirty spots on it. It was obvious it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. This hotel also has the smallest TV's I've ever seen in a hotel. You have to strain your eyes to see the screen while laying on the bed. That was no big deal since I wasn't there to watch TV but you would think with TV sizes now being at least 40 inches they...

To preface this review, I am particularly persnickety and a bit of a clean freak. I also like to save money, so I thoroughly investigate hotel reviews before booking to get the best hotel for the least amount of money. I hope this reviews helps you make your decision.

The room was very clean, recently updated, and was a great value. Initially, our shower head leaked and sprayed everywhere on first use. I called the front desk and within a minute had someone in my room fixing it. He replaced the washer and within five minutes was out of there.

The room was very clean, even in the corners and hard to clean areas. The only negative was that the coverlets on both beds were stained and one had a burn hole - possibly from a cigarette. Both were clean, but probably need to be replaced.

The breakfast was average, but I didn’t expect much. I assumed we would get a bagel and juice, but there were several bakery item options, biscuits, scrambled eggs, sausage, and gravy. There was also a waffle maker as well as the typical yogurt, cereal, and other items you normally see. The breakfast area was exceptionally clean and the staff member (the same one who fixed my shower head) was constantly restocking as soon as items got low. This guy is a HARD worker and aims to please.

Overall, this hotel was a “quality” choice! Don’t pay $50+ for another hotel room when this one is just as nice. I would definitely stay...
