Update to respond to management re proffered room change: We went back to change rooms to find Derek finishing cleaning the problematic one, he stated we should stay there because "the same housekeepers supposedly cleaned the other room, you're better off staying in this one" so we did. And of course it's easy to say the other one was 'newly renovated ' we never saw it. Again..we paid $360 for two nights and received $101 back. The $128 you authorized and they have for some reason kept a part of is still not the right amount. Fixing the shower the same day AFTER the morning showers is not really a help for that day.
Our getaway was consumed with trying/failing to have a clean and safe stay. The room was in no way as represented- it was filthy, colorless, drab, with wrinkled stained bedding. There was no duvet cover, just the inner lining, which had stains on it. There was no lamp, we had to ask Derek (on call) for it. Derek took plenty of pictures of the filth for his manager and we were told we weren't the only room housekeeping seemed to have skipped. The final straw was the shower, which was only operating on full hot which was literal steam and scorch. If you turned it to cooler it fizzled off. Derek fixed that for the second night, as well as cleaned the room himself-unfortunately we had no alternative place to stay. The exterior was not maintained and the seating was too dirty to sit on. Housekeeping was going from parking lot to room to room without shoes, explained some of the grime on the floors..we were basically sleeping on what her socks dragged in. All of this was reported to manager and we were promised a one night refund. Booking.com appears to be withholding our full amount and the owner/manager claims to have no way to make it right. We paid $360 for two nights and have received $101. The hassle and distress and time-suck overshadowed our getaway and we will never come back here. The things that are totally within the control of the owner/manager keep getting explained as if it is the guest's problem to understand. "The art is being reframed" "they will be remodeling" "we're in the process of...." Blah blah then price accordingly. Instead, they keep misleading pictures on the web and charge premium prices for dirty, unsafe, unpleasant conditions. Derek has the pictures, we have "receipts" and pictures of our own and as accommodating as management verbalizes to be, bottom line is we did not get a promised refund for a...
Read moreSuper easy check in, great communication ahead of the stay. ✔️ Wifi worked great!! Which is fantastic when you are working remotely ✔️ The rooms looked nothing like the pictures 😂 When booked was forced to book for a high price for 3+ nights. Super expensive for the level of the motel it is. But it did provide a room where you can stay a few nights safely , the location was fantastic! ✔️Couldn’t have asked for a better location. I was in town for a Triathalon and we were only 5min away from transition! There is also a supermarket across the road.✔️ Towels were not the cleanest, but I didn’t bother changing them out as my head was on the race.
I also had to go and buy my own hand soap and shower soap, since the one provided was super thin and tiny, and would be gone after a single hand wash. Very much a money saving technique, but pretty unhelpful for the guests.
The fridge in the room actually worked, which was a nice surprise.✔️ Shower was mouldy, but there isn’t much air flow through the small bathroom, so can be expected. The fact that the bathroom is not a shared one is a plus. 🙃
The staff were friendly with all of my interactions. ✔️ Limited parking but enough if your vehicle is not massive and you have one car per room. However there is a free parking on the street.
The town is rather small and quiet so should be fairly safe.
And again, the proximity to the town and the lake were great and is the main selling point for this place. ✔️✔️
I actually would stay again, but bring my own soap and towels :) In the off season/outside of a big race the prices should be more...

At first glance, the photos online made this place seem charming. Unfortunately, the reality was the complete opposite. Right outside our room, we were greeted by discarded cigarette butts — a clear sign that cleanliness wasn’t a priority.
Inside, the room was poorly maintained and nothing like the pictures. The beds shown online looked well-decorated and inviting, but what we got were two flat pillows and some thin blankets. There was only one awkwardly placed ceiling light, and it barely lit the room. The floors were visibly dirty, and the bathroom was no better — there was a large brown stain on the bathroom wall that had clearly been lazily painted over.
Housekeeping was another nightmare. We stayed for a week and only saw them once — and even then, they didn’t bother entering the room. When we asked for extra soap, we were given five bottles of shampoo. That’s it, only shampoo. We were also told to carry our own dirty towels to the cart, then handed trash bags and told to take our trash out to the dumpster — something I’ve never had to do at any hotel or motel.
The only upside was the short walk to the nicer parts of town. But trust me, that alone is not worth it.
If you’re considering booking here, be warned: bring your own towels, soap, tissues, trash bags — and prepare for a very...
