This was just shot back to my wife for her review and I'd like to address it. First as you did discuss this with us and yes our answer was no problem as I shouldn't have to ask for the right thing to be done. Your response blows my mind as you said to share with you to rectify the situation? Well you doing the right thing and saying "oh my gosh, we dropped the ball and tell you what, I'm going to comp your food for our error and all you'll have to pay for is your alcoholic drinks." That is hospitality! Taking ownership of the problem so we will come back again. And to the gratuity issue.....I've been in the industry for over 40 years and even as a manager I'd coach my server and explain to them the importance of following up and checking on your table. Why should I reward someone for not doing their job correctly? You in turn are training them and coaching their development to become a rockstar server. We did not see her ever again until she brought the check over and said "we took of the bloody Mary's" plural only to see one of them off. And if she was so new, why did you have her behind the bar making drinks and waiting on tables if you knew she couldn't handle it? To me you just set that team member up for failure. We even questioned you "the manager" and you should have been able to pick up the facial expression and body language that something still wasn't right. And now with this response from you blaming the guest, you will not see us again and I'm sure you know the saying about a great experience and a bad experience and which one will reach more people. Good luck in your training of staff and managers.
The company response: Dear Chastity and John,
Please accept our sincerest apologies for the unsatisfactory experience you encountered during your recent visit to our establishment. We acknowledge that an error occurred with your order due to an oversight by a member of our team, who inadvertently failed to input your ticket.
We recall discussing this matter with you at the time, and while we understood that you recognized that occasional oversights can occur and indicated "no problem we understand ," we are nonetheless concerned to learn of your disappointment. The final statement totaled $53.00, which included a complimentary beverage valued at $12. We also noted that a gratuity was not left for the server who, as we mentioned, was still in training and on her third day of employment.
Your feedback is highly valued as we continually strive to enhance the quality of our service. Furthermore, we would appreciate the opportunity to address any concerns directly and seek a resolution during your visit. We would be grateful if, in the future, you would allow us to rectify any mistakes promptly, as negative reviews can have a considerable impact on our business. We hope you would be willing to give us another chance showcase our commitment to hospitality and our guests. Thank you so much for...
Read moreGreat brunch/lunch menu, highly uneven dinner menue; probably second favorite place in Frankfort! I had both lunch and dinner her this month, and lunch was definitely amazinge...and dinner was uneven. For lunch brunch we had (mostly) chicken and waffles...which featured a great maple based waffle sauce and perfectly deep fried chicken. Mimosas completed it and it was wonderful. A bit pricey for a Frankfort lunch, but when the food is this tip top it's OK. One person in our party just had the regular breakfast and that was great - wonderful potatoes and toast and (I think) the sausage was wonderful (I was cleaning someone else's plate so dont remember fully). Now for dinner, they need to decide what they are. Because their menu included $13 smashburgers and $50 steak. Not a whole lot in between. Their food was delish, and wonderful, but it's not consistent. Is this a $75 lunch spot (a reach for Frankfort but they will pull this off in the summer easily), or is this a $300 dinner spot (I'm unsure this will fly in Frankfort even in summer). Now, the owners are constructing what appears to be a beer garden eatery next door which will be squarely competing against the Stormcloud eateries (yes there are two in Frankfort which seems a lot). I am very interested to see what B&M folks do next door - that place will be the smash burger place (hopefully with more appropriate things like "traditional" Frankfort/Elberta offerings like a smash cheeseburger without pretensions). But then, what will the B&M be? I hope more like chicken and waffles, and less like the $50 steak. I am curious. In the meantime, I fully recommend the Birch and Maple for brunch or lunch, and skip it for dinner until they figure out a better menu for that. A wonderful...
Read moreReally nice ambiance for breakfast or lunch. Decent food. Great looking menu. I love that they locally source as many ingredients as they can and work with some local farms. It was hard to decide what to get. Everything looked good. Since I was in a breakfasty mood, I ordered the veggie omelette with rye toast. All of the veggies were cooked well and I love that it wasn't greasy at all. unfortunately, my toast was burnt on one side and whoever put it on the plate tried to cover it up by setting it "good side up". As soon as I informed our server, she was very apologetic and replaced my toast immediately without question. I ordered a French 75 which was OK but seemed a little flat. It didn't affect my overall dining experience so I didn't think it was worth mentioning during service. My husband ordered the Monte Cristo which was good but was fairly standard. We could tell the ham was high quality though and from a happy pig. The maple syrup tasted real, and the cheese was nice and melty. My only real complaint is that when we walked in the door, we waited a short time to be greeted/seated. We were in around 10:30am on a Tuesday so it was shortly after breakfast and before lunch service but in my opinion, someone should always be watching the front door to greet guests. First impression matters, always. I would still recommend it to anyone visiting Frankfort looking for something more interesting for...
