Frankfort Tackle Box — Local services in Frankfort

Very disappointed with the draconian business practices of this store. I was in Frankfort fishing for salmon and needed to buy some fishing lures and other supplies. I went into the store, picked out some items that I needed. They did not have everything that I needed, but they did have some of the things I wanted for my fishing trip. The worst part of my visit happened when I went to the counter to pay for the items that I wanted to buy. The employee rang up the items on the cash register and gave the price for items. As I inserted my Capitol One Master Card credit card into the card reader, the same card I use every day for almost every purchase, they refused to accept my card because it is a "Cabelas" credit card. The owner of the store said that they do not accept that card because it has their competitions name on it. Then I pulled out my "Bass Pro Shops" credit card. Again, they would not accept that card either. Needles to say, I walked out of the store with nothing. I try to support local businesses whenever possible. But these people discourage it to extremities. So, if you are going fishing in Frankfort you may want to buy all of your supplies at Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops before you go there. Because they will refuse service to anyone who even thinks about shopping at, or using services of, "the competition." A GOOD ALTERNATE OPTION would be the BACKCAST FLY SHOP in Benzonia. Where the staff is friendly, willing to help, and will not discriminate against the identity of your credit card. Completely unhappy with the service and products at Frankfort Tackle Box.
