Frankfort Mineral Springs — Attraction in Frankfort

75+ yrs of drinking from this natural (yes, sorta' stinky) mineral spring & still love this unique water! From days of being held over the perpetual bubbling fountain, to now filling jugs for my travels, always a great experience. This park is immaculate, lush, beautiful, and has paved trails, fun climbing toys area, natural hillside amphitheater (summer concerts Fridays 7 pm) and vast areas of the softest grass ever for your bare feet, or picnic or relaxing with a good book. (Sheltered picnic areas are plentiful with tables, grills, etc.) The waterside walkway offers an up-close look at slips harboring grand yachts & sailing vessels. The small themed playground is tucked between charming downtown Frankfort and the waterfront. The proximity to Birch and Maple (bistro), the toy store, the library, and the book shop, to name a few highlights, made this an ideal pitstop for our family as we headed for Lake Michigan. Wow! Low on iron??? This is the right place. Yikes, you can smell the metal as soon as you approach the pergola. Took me back to my aunt's farm and her well water. Several people came to fill a thermos or jug. Two from our party drank from the fountain head. No ill effects ;) It's right on the main drag, so take the time to stop and run over to it.
