
I made my reservation 6 wks ahead for a family reunion-reserved w/CC-advised I would pay w/cash upon arrival-all good-I drove 4 hrs. w/2 kids to be told I cannot check in because I'm paying w/cash-they only take cash for a wk stay-I had no other means to pay-(not that it is any of your business but I didn't bring any CC-we're buying a new home and I didn’t want to add anything to my CC at the time; keeping debt down)-I was using cash all weekend--It was 95 degrees-my kids sitting in a hot car outside-I cannot check-in because of a policy I was not advised about when I booked and no one was willing to help me, 3 employees from hotel came out to tell me they couldn't help me-what was I supposed to do w/to kids? This was unacceptable. I had cash to pay in full but couldn't-Angela from the hotel offered to use her CC for the room and I pay her cash-that was the only way I was able to check-in-She was the only one to offer me any help. I am a Customer Experience Director currently in a B to B and I have worked in upper management for American Express for 20+years.I have taught CS classes; I know what good service looks like and this experience was not it. I was very disappointed in the way I was handled-other than Angela; who was polite and finally offered her own CC to assist me---the staff there was ready to put me and my kids out. The overall stay was fine --but the hospitality left a lot to be desired. I would definitely think twice before recommending this hotel --not because of the hotel but the lack of concern for me and my kids was unacceptable. Read moreI was very impressed with this establishment. Room rated were great. The staff was excellent!! Greg and Shontia were great. They went above and beyond. Very professional, knowledgeable, and they provided great customer service skills. Greg made sure we were satisfied from the time if booking, to the time of our stay. We had several rooms reserved for our family gathering, and Greg assisted everyone that reserved a room. He was very patient and accomodating. He made sure we were comfortable and completely satisfied. John was excellent also. He was so nice and patient. I could tell he takes pride in his work. The staff was consistently warm and welcoming. If we needed anything, Shontia was more than willing to accommodate. The rooms were so clean and comfortable. All 23 of us were extremely satisfied overall. We decided to have our event annually in Fredericksburg, and stay at this location every time. I haven't experienced service like this (other than Sandals) in years. My mother has not gotten a straight night's sleep in a couple of years - that is until this reservation. She was so comfortable and relaxed. After booking on “Hotels.com” and paying for the room in 3 days in advance and confirming at 2pm the day of check in they gave my room away!!!! I arrived at 1:30am during a grueling road-trip with my family just to unapologetically find out that they gave my room away and they said it was my fault for using a third-party booking like hotels.com and was sent away to find other accommodation. Extended Stay America Premier Suites - Fredericksburg was incredibly unprofessional! punprecedented, after using Hotels.com dozens of times over the years and always being greeted as as welcomed guest, I found Extended Stay America Premier Suites - Fredericksburg to be a combination of incompetent and greedy and I would not want anyone else to find themselves in this circumstance and to be treated this way.
