I dined at this location about a month ago after an acquaintance suggested this place was fairly priced and the food was decently prepared.
I made a reservation for a few of my friends and I, just to arrive and be told by some snooty hostess that I have to wait. She was a rude, loud, brunette teeney bopper that had to be at least 20 years younger than me, talking to me as if I were her equal. What is the point of making a reservation just to have my friends and I wait an additional 20-30 minutes? Ridiculous, but I waited hoping the food would be worth it. The food is just mediocre, nothing special and definitely not worth the wait.
I give this place one star because the waitress we had was very sweet but didn't have a clue about the food she was selling. She could barely answer questions about the featured fish specials, having to ask others which prolonged our stay unnecessarily. I cannot blame her for this, poorly managed establishments tend to have poorly trained employees. I must say The Bang Bang Shrimp and Coconut Shrimp were tasty, but obviously frozen. They were suggested to our table.
I had a simple problem with my entrée, which was easily resolved. I cannot even remember what it was called because thats how forgettable it was. My friend's fish smelt extremely fishy like it was old, she ended up ordering something else instead. The smell lingered it was so strong but this is not the worst part. After a while, a manager approached our table and asked how everything was because of the issues with our food and service. This vile and VERY BOLD man WAS NOT EVEN LOOKING AT MY FACE! I was wearing a V-Shirt so my cleavage was showing which was my fault, but I wasn't expecting a pervert to be working at a fine establishment like this. I didn't even respond because I was so disgusted and frankly I didn't want him to communicate with me any further. I looked down briefly and when I looked back up, he was checking out the other ladies at my table like we were poultry! Absolutely disgusting behavior from this manager. He was VERY OBVIOUS about it as well.
I called the VERY NEXT day to find out his name because I am so appalled, I am going to contact HR. I have never felt so degraded by a man I DON'T even know. Do not dine at Mr. Johnson's Bonefish Grill. He should be ashamed of himself. I don't do reviews but I wrote this one for the women in my community! No woman should ever go through this!
Heaven has to fall out the sky before I ever step a foot back into Bonefish Grill. I don't think I will eat at any of their other locations either, just not worth it. Go to Firebirds if you want great service and food that is actually worth the price. My friend's Ahi Tuna Steak was frozen she said. She eats that almost everywhere she goes and she knows her Ahi Tuna. How are you a seafood restaurant serving frozen seafood? IF I WANTED FROZEN SEAFOOD I WOULD GO TO WEGMANS... Pathetic. This company is laughable. Do not waste your time. It has been a month and it still pisses me off like it...
Read moreBonefish: we used to love you but your quality is sliding downhill. Let me share why. As soon as we walked in, no greeter/host(ess). We stood there at the front looking stupid for about 2 minutes. (This also happened to everyone who came in to the restaurant throughout the evening, but some people waited 5+ minutes to be greeted.) We also had a long wait til the server greeted us after we sat down at our booth as well. There were also long wait times in between seeing our server. She only came around a handful of times. There were only about 4 tables that were full in the dining room. Which confused me because I would only expect bare minimum/lackluster service on a busy night. Oh well. This usually doesnt bother me but last night it did: the interesting looking light fixtures over the dining room were dusty with visible dust particles flying off.... The taste of the food was good but not great. The bang bang shrimp tasted different- heavily dipped fried coating(instead of light and crispy) and the sauce tasted like it was missing something. My salmon was tasty but disappointing because it was overcooked and lacked salt. The food was decent, and better than most places but why pay $100 on a nonalcoholic dinner for two if the whole experience isnt there? I would usually only come to Bonefish on a special occasion because I held it to that high of a standard but now I may not come...
Read moreGreeting people and wait staff were, as always, excellent. The drinks cold and refreshing. The food was a major disappointment. We had the cod, shrimp, scallops on a bed of fries since the picture they sent out on email looked so inviting. But first let’s start with the all time favorite, bang bang shrimp. They must have changed the recipe. The shrimp was not spicy and was not coated with the bang bang sauce we were use to. Instead the shrimp appeared to be fried with some kind of sauce that wasn’t any where near as good as the old sauce. I say it was fried because ours had a lot of the fried crumbs in the dish that wasn’t tasty at all. Now the main course. The cod was mostly breading that was oily. I love cod in traditional fish and chips, but this was nothing to love. Small, tasteless and greasy. Ditto for the shrimp, way too much breading that was way too greasy. The scallops also had a lot of breading, no flavor and very greasy. My scallops were slimy on the bottom under the breading which of course made the breading just slide right off.....not good, just a mushy mess. And one last issue, I’ve had better cold slaw from a fast food place. Not a good experience for me at all. I’ll join many others and...
