ROACHES, BUGS, and MILDEW! TERRIBLE SERVICE! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!! I would give negative stars for this hotel! There are many things wrong with this hotel! Terribly cleaned rooms, really sticky floors/carpets, dust everywhere on tables/tv, bugs, terrible service from day shift and WORST OF ALL, ROACHES!
This has definitely be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, I’ve stayed at better motel 6 and sketchy motels.
I stayed here 3 times and in 3 different rooms to give it a chance since it’s close to the airport and has a decent parking lot.
I would start with the gross and dirty carpets. They honestly do not clean the floors periodically or do any kind of maintenance/shampooing. You will see stains, spills, and sticky residue. The whole room only gets wiped down lightly on high touch areas, so pay attention to the top of the tv, headboard and hard to reach areas. The couches are definitely caked with gross juices, liquids and whatever people stain it with. I would suggest to definitely avoid using them. Lastly about the quality of the room, all the rooms have a disgusting mildew smell in all the AC installed in the room. Having worked on HVAC myself I can tell that the water is stagnant in the AC unit either because improper installation or a clogged AC drain.
The thing that shocked me the most was that there are a lot of bugs in the rooms for no apparent reason. The thing that sent me and my wife was there was a HUGE ROACH that flew inside the room the last time I stayed there. It was disgusting how huge that thing was.
The thing that drove me nuts was how terrible the day shift workers was. Me and wife stayed there for work, for about 2 months. She would ask for minor requests or questions to the day shift workers (about 8am-3pm) and they would treat her incredibly horrible and would say things something under their breath or talk behind her back. One time she called to ask if she could switch rooms since the current one was having a mildew smell. Then as she went down the stairs and walked around the corner she overheard the African American front desk worker talk so much bad things about her about being unhappy about the room just because it smells and all other things.
Overall the service experience with the day shift workers was terrible and would definitely not stay here anymore on how they treated my wife. I can overlook the bugs and dirty room, to disrespect my wife like that, that was unacceptable. It was a good things that my wife was able to calm me down from yelling at management or the front desk workers.
Please do yourself a favor, please stay at the other hotels around the area. Even the quality across the street is a lot better in the inside. Looks can...
Read moreI love to stay here. They have a cool coffee machine in the lobby that makes regular and decaf coffee all day and all night! I often have a hard time getting decaf regularly anywhere and this was so easy. The room was nice in #303. A separate bedroom from the living room area. Cozy and the heater worked great. We did have some trouble with the toilet flushing and they sent someone up right away to fix it.
We woke up to a wonderful breakfast. Muffins, eggs, sausage, bacon, zuchinni with squash, bananas, 3 choices of cereal, almond milk, 🐄 milk, half & half, tea, coffee, juices, orange juice, mango juice, fruit punch, bagels, toast, fresh waffles, oatmeal, and more. Such a great continental breakfast!
The staff is always so friendly. From the host behind the counter to the maintenance guy in the hall and the super helpful maids. I swear one staff member was working on Christmas and she was so awesome that I hope she is there again when I return. She is becoming someone that I look forward to talk to when we stay at the Best Western on Peach Ave and McKinley. The staff also helps out with pictures. They will take pictures with your camera so that all of your friends and family are included in the photo. Thank you so much for such a great experience on Christmas day & my birthday. (Both are the...
Read moreSadly, a friend of mine needing a safe place to stay, because of a domestic issue, tried to stay at this hotel last night. She went there in the middle of the night fearful for her well being from her husband with mental illness, she showed up @ 3:00am clean nicely dressed, with her packed change of clothing in an overnight bag, good credit cards & she is not lacking in money. She got turned away because they have a policy that requires locals to put down $250.00 cash deposit...she had even stayed there prior before with no problem checking in & paid without incident, but the night clerk on duty wouldn't even check her name in the computer's history or help her! Most people don't carry that kind of cash in the middle of the night when they need a safe place to stay :( Shame on you Best Western Plus for not being there for domestic violence victims trying to find a safe place to stay ...esp. when they have the means to pay for a room & are a good person! I phoned corporate & they basically said they have the right to refuse a room to anyone & they said a domestic violence victim is different than someone seeking shelter from a crisis such a hurricane Harvey??? Really, how so, she was in danger! This is discrimination...
