Chez Maryse doesn’t beg for your attention…it earns it. Tucked on a quiet corner with simple charm, this little French restaurant welcomes you like an old friend. The moment you step through the door, someone greets you with a bright “Bonjour” that feels like more than just a greeting…it’s an invitation.
The staff here are kind, attentive, and seem genuinely happy you’re there. The restaurant is spotless without feeling cold. Everything feels intentionally cared for, like a space that’s both professional and personal.
The food? Fresh doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every dish tastes like it was made with purpose. The flavors are layered, thoughtful, and comforting without being predictable. Their signature fig vinaigrette? It’s worth writing home about. Sweet and tangy with just the right amount of bite, it transforms even a simple salad into something you won’t forget.
There’s something distinctly French about the whole experience, but not in a showy or uptight way. It’s more like someone brought a little piece of the French countryside and set it down gently in our city. Take the Ribeye Sarladaise, an 11 ounce steak seared with thyme, garlic, rosemary, white wine and butter, served with mushrooms and shallots. The La Saumon crepe, filled with salmon, avocado, shallot and herb cream, arrives with a crisp green salad that brings everything into balance. The Croque Madame, stacked with ham, Swiss, béchamel and topped with a sunny side up egg, hits every note of comfort and flavor. But my all time favorite? La Basque. This crepe, filled with rotisserie chicken, sautéed bell peppers, onion, olives and topped with a warm tomato shallot sauce, is the kind of dish that lingers in your memory long after the plate is cleared. It’s bold, comforting, and completely irresistible.
Then there’s the pastry case. Don’t skip it. It’s filled with fresh baked French pastries that look like art and taste even better. My favorite? The strawberry filled croissant—flaky, buttery, and bursting with strawberry cream—presented with a quiet elegance that stays with you long after the last crumb is gone.
If you love French cuisine or have ever wanted to experience what that really means, go to Chez Maryse. Let them feed you the way the French do…with care, with flavor, and with just a touch of magic. Your tastebuds...
Read moreSo I wanted to try this place out and boy did i get one of the worst experience ever. When my wife, baby and I arrived, they seated us outside on a large table fitting 6 inside a tent with shade because that was the only table available. Waitress brought two glass cup of water. I noticed glass cup were dirty. I asked to get me new glass cups and made my order. Waitress took my order and took away my two glass cups of water. I dont know who this lady(maybe owner) was but she then tells me she would like to move me inside to seat me in a table for 2 so they could use the table for another larger group. My wife, baby son i follow her inside, as soon as we were about to sit, another waitress said the seat we were going to sit was reserved for someone already but when i arrived i didnt see a reserve seat sign. The lady then retracts and takes us back outside n never apologized for the inconvience. Places us in seat that was even more uncomfortable where im now in the sun. I see a nicer open seat with shade she started cleaning. I asked tge lady if we can just sit there instead of where we were at. She agreed. While waiting in our new seat, time goes by and im now wondering where the hell is our food i order and glass cups of water. Im now pissed because i see people who had got seated after me are getting there food b4 me. I also noticed the people who were non asian had water and a tall glass refillable water on their tables. Waitresses n waiters were so tentatives towards them but its seems like my wife and i were being completely ignored. I had to stop the waitresss who had helped me earlier and asked her where my order was. The waitress then said she its probably ready and she would check. She brings back the food and my food seems like it has been sitting out. I had to ask her to for my glass cup of water as well. My order came out but i was missing one item. I ate little bit of the food was not good. I can cook this at home. Foods not worth the price. Never going this place again. I see how they cater and be so tentative towards the non asian folks, i dont think ill ever go back. Dont want to same experience the same thing. Goodluck if...
Read moreMy wife and I traveled from across town to visit this hidden gem. They have been open for maybe six months or so. However, I don't believe they were ready for an influx of people to visit at once since their spot on Channel 30. We were unaware if we needed to get in line to order or sit and wait for a server. We played it safe and my wife sat at one of the few tables available and I stood in line to order. Others did the same, considering the situation.
We ordered the Le Croque Madame. It's a French style Ham and Swiss Cheese Sandwich with two Sunnyside Up Eggs and side salad with Vinaigrette. This was very good and I enjoyed it quite a bit. We also got a Daisy Crepe. It didn't match with the picture on the menu, but was still presented nicely. It was a Crepe that had folds with pockets of Ham, Swiss Cheese, Sunnyside Up Eggs. It too could have been delicious. Unfortunately, the cook was overzealous with the Garlic Powder in spots. Lastly, I had a Croissant and it was not oily/buttery, instead nice a flaky but soft and moist inside.. To me, it was top-notch.
The service was slow and didn't appear they were in a hurry to provide table service. They were also having issues with their P.O.S. perhaps it was new, but they had issues. I give them a pass.
Either get there early or wait like at any other busy breakfast joint...
