Online, the rooms showed big jacuzzi bathtubs in the room. I called prior to booking the room and verified there would be a tub in the room. Woman on the phone said “yes we have tubs in the rooms” so i booked and even decided to pay a little more on the rate to take advantage of the points promotion …. We arrived at check in and I again asked to make sure that we get a bathtub in our room…..I even laughingly said Id pay extra if need be to make sure i get a spa tub ….. i was then told, no, there was not spa tubs in the room like the online photos showed. They said they had 1 room at the the hotel with a tub like the online photos but they have it blocked and was unbookable. ( I was in town for multiple days of doctors appointments And soaking in a tub after being on my legs all day, is a huge way i deal with my incredible pain and swelling.) so no big spa tub was fine But still obviously wanted a bathtub in the bathroom… So we checked in. Dropped our stuff off and Went to eat. Wasnt until we Came back that I finally went into the bathroom to find, even after the conversation at the front desk over making sure our room had a tub, we still ended up in a room with a roll in shower… no tub at all …and a really horribly rusted shower curtain rod … at that point i felt bad asking for another room, knowing they’d still have to clean our room again for no real reason…. So i gave up and just tried to go to bed…. I need to stay near the hospital there pretty often … monthly if im being honest…..and was really hoping this location would be my new “go to” hotel for the area considering how close it is …but im going to be looking for some other options now...
Read moreWe usually stay at the Quality Inn on Williston Rd, that place is nice: clean, quiet, and a very friendly staff. On this occasion we had our dog with us and this Quality Inn was recommended, as they accept pets, with a $20.00 non refundable deposit. This quality end on 13th is marketed as newly renovated, which it is in a really half aced way. Walking in the room there is a really nice and newly renovated tub area. It was a shame that the tub was nasty, as if it had not been cleaned since before the renovation, nor covered during. The bathroom had brand new flooring but nobody had taken the time to wipe down the sides of the sink. The wall mounted hair dryer literally had built up grime on it. It was so bad that we actually laid a clean (?) towel down in the shower before showering. Neither of us would exit the shower without putting on socks because the place was so dirty. I dropped and broke a souvenir on the floor and when I used a wet washrag to make sure there was no glass left behind the rag was black and the 5'x5' area I wiped was visually a noticeably lighter shade. I do not believe that those floors have been mopped once since the 'renovation'. I gave this place 2 stars because they accepted our dog, the AC worked, and there were no bed bugs, that we noticed. Accepting pets is probably the way they get a bulk of their their business. Our dog will be staying home when we make this trip again in the future. In total it cost us $115 to stay in what should have been $29.99 a night motel. On the plus side it was fairly quiet, because there were only about 4 other guests there it seemed like. #never...
Read moreI stay in more hotels than I care to admit in any given year, and have an Elite standing with Choice, so I feel like I know their brands fairly well. If this had been an Econolodge my rating would have been higher, but for a Quality Inn, this place was surprisingly poor.
The facility is old, which, in itself is not a problem, but maintenance, decor and general upkeep are lacking. It's not difficult to see - in one corner or another - every color of paint that has even been on the walls here. The refrigerator has yellowed with age and the toilet is no longer firmly attached to the floor.
Perhaps because of its age, the building is noisy. Conversations, television sounds, etc. can be easily heard between rooms. I don't think my neighbors were overly "noisy", nor were those standing outside chatting at 5:00 am, but the building does little to insulate the rooms from those sounds.
Most jarring, however, was the sudden entrance of the housekeeper. I had been in the room for a couple of hours when the door suddenly swung open and she stepped inside. We were both startled, of course; though she never apologized for her intrusion. She simply said, "there's some things I'm supposed to do." Then she handed me a bath mat and told me she would return later with towels. Oddly, there were already towels and a bathmat in the bathroom.
Having read multiple positive reviews, I was expecting something far better here. I will look elsewhere on my next pass through north...
