Steak ’n Shake — Restaurant in Gainesville

I must express my deep disappointment with the service at Steak 'n Shake during my recent visit. This marked the second time within a week that I encountered the same frustrating issues, leading me to conclude that I will not be returning to this establishment.

First and foremost, the wait time just to have our order taken was utterly unacceptable. We stood in line for a staggering 10 minutes, patiently waiting to place our order. This delay set an unpleasant tone for the rest of the experience, leaving us feeling unattended to and undervalued as customers.

To make matters worse, once our turn finally came, we were informed that both items I had intended to order were unavailable. It is disheartening to encounter such a lack of inventory management, especially when it was the same issue I encountered just a few days prior. The repetition of this problem suggests a failure to address the root cause and improve the situation.

Given the disappointments experienced during both visits, I have lost confidence in the ability of this Steak 'n Shake location to deliver on its promises. As a customer, I expect consistency, reliability, and the availability of menu items. Regrettably, this establishment has failed to meet these basic expectations on multiple occasions.

I strongly urge the management to assess and rectify these persistent issues promptly. By doing so, they may be able to regain the trust and loyalty of customers who have been let down by their subpar performance.

Considering the repeated instances of disappointment and the lack of improvement, I cannot recommend visiting this particular Steak 'n Shake location. It is my sincere hope that future customers will have a more positive experience at other...

I can honestly say this was the worst ever. There was 1 waitress for entire place (including counter customers) we waited patiently after ordering a salad that said oh yeah btw we don't have any salad...? Salad only has lettuce, tomato hamburger and cheese.. They have all those items... Anyway no way no salad....Ok re-order sits in window after being cooked for 9 minutes (we watched and timed) before she even realized it was there, passed it and about 6 minutes later our food arrived... Then get our dinner... I had a 3 yr old with me who pretty obviously doesn't want onions on his hamburger and tomatoes...(specifically asked three times to waitress...The bathroom.. I won't even describe) please nothing but cheese and ketchup he's picky) We take it off and with an upset 3 yr old that the onion even touched his food was no longer ready to eat.. At this point we've waited over an hour for a couple hamburgers. I then realize I have no Cole slaw (because I cannot eat my cold hard fries) oh and btw the 3 yr old still hasn't gotten his drink.. We ask once again and the discouraged waitress helped. I say well let's get hot fries and just call it a day. We ask for more fries please ours was un-edible still not saying we waited forever we just sat quietly and we discouraged kinda look around and I saw the ceiling... Wooooow.... I mistakenly showed my husband who lost his appetite and was floored to say the least (he has hotel/restaurants exp) so we say after we stop eating and say... Well can the 3 yr old at least get his cookie..? The highlight of his night that he had waited patiently on was told oh, we're out of...

Absolutely the worst service I don't know of they are short staffed or if the people working there are incompetent. I was waiting in line for at least 15 minutes for one gentleman to order there was two cars in front of me that left because they were taking so long then I finally got up to to order I waited 15 minutes before I had to I was allowed to order then I finally come up to the window I had to wait almost 7 minutes just to get cashed out and then they have me pull off to the side and now I've been waiting now another 10 minutes so I've been here for almost 45 minutes just to grab lunch for my husband. And again they're shake machine is down how can you have a place that's called steak and shake and yet your shake machine is never working I try every so often it's usually every couple months to give this place a chance and every time I've tried since I've moved down here do you failed miserably again like I said I don't know if they are short staffed or people just don't know what they're doing but this by far is absolutely ridiculous that people have to wait almost an hour just to order something and it's fast food which I know I could get told to go order somewhere else but considering the places nearby and it's been months since food has been ordered from there you figured you'd give it a chance and the service is absolutely 100% horrible if I could give this location a -10 I would. The only reason why I have to sit and wait is because I paid for it now if I would have known it was going to take this long I would have just drove off like the seven other customers I saw...
