DO NOT RECOMMEND! You get what you pay for. We had to make a trip last minute to Gainesville and got in late so the only reason we didn’t leave after opening our door was because we were going to be gone less than 12 hours. Checkin: no one was at the front desk and after 12 minutes and ringing the bell someone finally appeared to get us checked in. Made my reservation through Choice hotel app since I’m a Choice member. We get our key (1) and go to our room Room (1st floor): we opened the door and immediately noticed both the curtains and the sheets were very raggedy, they had holes and tear marks in them. There was no lighting except for 3 lamps and 1 of which didn’t have any light bulbs. After the bathroom had been used we had to go to the front desk to retrieve a plunger but to no avail so the guy moved us to another room. 2nd room: Room key was given to us with sticky note with our room number, no key card holder. We opened the door and it smelled musty and a smell that I couldn’t place very weird smelling. There were stains in the carpet, hair in the sink, crumbs on the desk and nothing to indicate we were at a Quality inn (pens, notebook, tv guide- nothing) At 3 am the ac quit working. Room temperature was 79 degrees. Bathroom: where do I even begin? The shower had mildew build up on the handle and the shower head. Hadn’t been cleaned in well probably since they opened. The vent directly above the shower head was full of dust. Walked into the bathroom and there was a puddle of water from the toilet. When I opened my towel a spider was living inside of it and gave me a little shock to where I almost fell. The door handle to the inside bathroom door was hanging on for dear life by one nail. I didn’t know water had a smell to it almost like an egg smell (sulfur) pretty disgusting. Breezeway: had poor lighting and a lot of trash piled up as if it had been sitting there for a while. There was a lot of trash and debris laying around the property as well as overgrown grass and weeds due to not being landscaped. Checkout: I turned my 1 key into a box at the front desk however I did want to speak to someone so I could obtain my receipt and I waited and rang the bell for at least 15 minutes and no one was in sight to assist me with my receipt. I also wanted to inform them about the water issue in our room so they could get someone in there to fix it. Overall this property had alot of issues and it could use a lot attention. You get what you pay for and I would have been better off by sleeping in my car and going to a truck stop to take a shower. The room was hot this morning and very humid in there which did cause me to have a nose bleed. From this point forward I will be reading reviews before staying anywhere else within Choice Hotels.

(Writing from husbands phone) If I could rate Quality Inn in Gainesville, Texas negative stars, I would — but unfortunately, one star is as low as they let you go. Let’s dive into the luxury experience at this place. First off, check-in was at 3pm, but we didn’t have hot water until midnight. Because who doesn’t love an ice-cold shower to kick off their stay, right? Totally the relaxing experience I was hoping for after a long day of travel. Then we hit the bathroom sink — which had some paper trash shoved in it, clogging the drain. So instead of running water, it just became a lovely little swamp. A real treat. Oh, and for that extra touch, there were two random French fries by the bed. Not ours. But hey, maybe that’s part of the “charm.” It’s like a surprise gift from the previous guest! The white bedspread? Covered in mysterious spots My cousin went down to the front desk, where they had a fridge with drinks, not a vending machine. No one was there, so she waited a couple of minutes. When no one showed up, she just grabbed a Mountain Dew, planning to pay for it before we left because clearly we don’t need to steal a soda and there is cameras so. When she told the lady at the desk that she wanted to pay and had cash in the room, the lady asked, “Did you just take that?” My cousin explained, “No, I was going to pay, but no one was here. I have cash or I can use my card it’s on my phone” The lady responded, “No, no, no, just keep the soda. It’s fine.” Like, okay, thanks? But here’s the kicker — when we called to get our money back for the horrendous experience we had, the lady practically threw the free soda in our face like it was a magic solution to all our complaints even when we offered to pay for it. She even gave us $15 off the room for the hot water issue. What a deal, considering everything else was a disaster. And the 15$ ended up BEING CHARGED EXTRA INSTEAD OF TAKEN AWAY!!! Nothing was done to help get our money back for this nightmare and the lady at the desk was BEYOND rude. This place was a total nightmare. Between the plumbing issues, dirty bedding, and questionable customer service, Quality Inn in Gainesville is the last place I’d recommend if you want to actually enjoy your stay. I felt like I had bugs all over me when I left. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. Like literally ANYWHERE else. I’d sleep in my car before this nasty joke of a place

We were traveling through and needed something for a few hours just to sleep. This was the only place available in town. First off, the first two rooms they assigned to me, I could not get in because the key cards did not work. Second when I did get a room that I could enter(it took about 30 minutes) there was only one light out of three that would turn on. We were informed that we were getting one of the renovated rooms, but it was still in very poor condition. There were wires running out of the walls with no electrical boxes, the tile had not been grouted, the chair in the room had a large stain on it, and the TV had no sound on several of the channels. Furthermore, the tank lid on the toilet had to be off to allow it to flush because the arm connected to the outside handle was incorrect for that model. The stair way near my room was inoperable due to damaged steps and the other stairway in the complex had no working lights. At the time they were storing furniture and construction material in the stairway and walkways. At night with no working exterior lights in parts of the complex you wanted to make sure you had a flashlight which I luckily did. I would recommend staying somewhere else in town or driving a few minutes more to find something better.

Had a terrible experience upon my arrival I went to go see if they had any rooms available, it was around 3am in the morning the front deck said they had one but it was $180 for one night I said that’s too expensive, went and left and had booked online for cheaper got a room booked for $60 went back to the front counter to go check in to my room and the hotel clerk said I wasn’t able to check in until 6am and it was 3:40am almost 4am and I just had gotten out of the hospital for a sprained ankle, obviously I was on pain and wanted to lay down and I said so I can’t check in until 6am? And the hotel said yes that’s correct I can’t check you in right now I said okay I’ll wait till 6am and the hotel clerk proceeds to tell me I will have to pay more money even though I’m gonna wait till 6am to check in and I proceeded to tell him I’m not gonna pay unnecessary extra money for my room that’s already paid for because I don’t have money like that, he said I can offer you my employee discount and you can cancel than reservation and pay for a whole new one which would have costed $80, I said I can’t do that I have to be back in Whitesboro and get an uber I don’t have any other money to pay for anything else he continues to say the same exact thing when I had already told him those options weren’t available that I could do, he still tries to get me a whole new reservation with the employee discount which again would’ve been $80 I said your not listening to what I am telling you I can’t do that and he tires to tell me about this other lady that checked in and what she paid and tries telling me her information and I said I don’t care about what she paid and I’m pretty sure your violating the contract with the hotel about telling me someone else’s information and I said I can report you for that because that’s not something you give out especially working in a place like this, at this point I was crying and continuously repeating myself to him because he was not listening I said go ahead and cancel my reservation and give me a refund if I don’t get that refund I will be suing I said your trying to change me for more money than what I’ve already paid for your trying to scam me so I told him give me the refund and if not I will be suing and I left went to walk over to McDonalds that was 5 min away walking distance and I don’t have a car and I had a sprained ankle I was in pain and went to search up a different hotel in Whitesboro and called to see if I could get a room once I’ve arrived there and they said yes I went ahead got me an uber to the Whitesboro Inn and Suites and got checked in for a room for $79.10, I find it so ridiculous that I had to go through all of that for one night just to get a hotel room while having a sprained ankle in pain and get an uber to a different hotel because of the fact that I couldn’t check in until 6am and had staff not listening to what I was trying to explain, this was very sad and very frustrating and a shame that this was the outcome I am very disappointed in this hotel staff who don’t know how to listen and try to scam someone for money they don’t have, I don’t...
