Nice place to eat for the SERIOUS LACK OF OPTIONS and all the contruction on IH35; going North and South. This place is a very good place, aside from a few problem areas that could be improved upon and if you are in the mood for Bar & Grill food; this place will suit you just fine. First off, the fried pickles were some of the best, if not the BEST, I've ever eaten and the ranch goes perfectly. And I'm not a big fried pickles fan. I am a very picky about my pickles. Then, we ordered the Chili Cheese Frito Pie. I wasn't in the mood for, but had to try and it was VERY TASTY to me. Then, I ordered the Meat Lovers 10" pizza. Now, this is where I have a few problems. The meats were good, but altogether, with the sauce, the pizza dough AND the BURNT CRUSTIES, a frozen HEB overcooked pizza would have been better. A few things could correct this. Lower the oven temp AND put cheese on top to avoid burnt bacon AND, the most IMPORTANT, CLEAN YOUR OVEN. The bottom of my pizza had just as much burnt toppings as the top of the pizza. Being an Austinite and a foodie, I require better execution on my pizza order. In any case, I was hungry so, I ate it all because I am a Southern Boy. I digress. Then she had ordered the Buffalo Medium Chicken Wings with Ranch. They were a bit SMOTHERED for her taste. After she patted the wings with a napkin, they were edible. Too much vinegar for her taste and we both thought they were just ok, nothing special. I had the Sweet Tea with limes and she had a Coke. The waitress said she made the Tea and it was as very good and a bit sweeter than Bill Miller's Sweet Tea (if you know, you know). The staff was cordial and pleasant. The Karen next to us was upset and had to get up out of her chair to let her waitress know that we got our food before their table of 10 did. In any case we went to Toby Keith's for the same type of food in the Windstar Casino. The food at TK's was better. On the way out we got some Kolaches/pastries. The were from the morning but didn't taste that good cold. I bet they are awesome right out the oven. Overall the experience was adequate for the location and lack of food options for Gainesville, Texas. Not great but definitely not bad. Just middle of...
Read moreOne of the best brewery experiences I’ve had—hands down.
I stopped into this Gainesville gem with the casual intention of grabbing a quick beer before hitting the road. What happened next turned into one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable afternoons I’ve had in a long time—and Brittany was a huge reason why.
From the moment I walked in, Brittany made the entire experience feel personal, warm, and genuinely welcoming. She greeted me with a big smile and immediately had a great read on what kind of beer I might enjoy. Her recommendations were on point—not just a list of what’s on tap, but thoughtful, well-informed suggestions based on my preferences. I wasn’t planning on staying long, but her enthusiasm and professionalism convinced me to stick around. That one beer turned into a relaxed, two-hour visit filled with great conversation, perfectly timed service, and some truly outstanding food.
Speaking of the food—it blew me away. Way beyond typical “brewpub” fare. Everything from presentation to flavor was spot-on. And again, Brittany didn’t just drop off menus—she walked me through a few options with the kind of confidence that tells you, “This isn’t her first rodeo.” I went with her suggestion, and it was phenomenal.
The atmosphere in the brewery was casual and friendly, with a local charm that made me feel like I was part of the community, even just for a couple of hours. Clean facilities, great taproom design, a nice mix of locals and travelers—and all of it amplified by the level of service Brittany brought to the table.
She wasn’t just checking boxes; she elevated the experience. Friendly, intuitive, and incredibly professional. It’s rare to meet someone who seems genuinely passionate about what they do, but Brittany clearly loves connecting with people and representing this place well.
Bottom line: I came in for a quick drink and ended up having one of the most enjoyable afternoons of my trip. If you’re anywhere near Gainesville, Texas, do yourself a favor and stop by this brewery—and if you’re lucky, Brittany will be...
Read moreThere's lots of 5 Star reviews, and it's because this place is Worth It! It's an absolute #hiddengem, and totally worth the drive from Denton! You won't be disappointed!
I will admit, I was drawn by Bacon Jam fries, which were excellent... and not even close to the best thing we had! Let's start with beer flights! They got 'em, you can choose your own, you can add onto the basic 4-4oz pours! Yep, get that extra 4 oz pour and go home super happy!
You can also get a moonshine flight! For real. Say it: Moonshine Flight! Why aren't you driving right now? Technically it's soft shine and using their words: all the taste of prohibition era 'shine, but without the black eye from falling out of your chair! The apple cider version is a mix of real Apple Juice and Apple Cider, then blended with fresh cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and our homemade Vanilla. Trust me, you WANT this! (They sell it to-go on 16oz jars, BTW)!!
But we did come to eat! We came for pizza, we got sidetracked! We had the full Reuben (go look at these pics!!), which they can serve in 1/2 or 1/3rds. As my wife says, this is the best Reuben she's had outside of NYC! Do you need to know more? You might've had a better one, but probably not this close and easy to get to! And it's HUGE!!!!!! We also split the Patty Melt Panini. Can you say best patty melt ever? Nice crusty bread, without being to much, onions cooked to perfection, and the meat was awesome!! I will argue best patty melt in the metroplex! Fight me!
Everyone of the staff were stellar. We told the 2 waitresses and the manager, this is the best dining experience we have had in over 2 years! They were as good as you can get! Absolutely Stellar! I would put up w/ bad good for this level of service... but there's no need... this cook ROCKS!! Nothing was bad! I mean, we had around the whole menu... and Nothing was bad! This place is certainly a 5...
