There are so many bad things about this "NOT" resort, I don't know where to begin,ok, here goes...the entrance area is so narrow, if someone is checking in there is no way to get around their Rv. After registering you are not escorted to your site and left to find it on your own. The streets ( the width of an alley) are very narrow. The regular sites for transients are very tight and back-ins are bumper to bumper. The "Super" sites are long, somewhat wide but still close together. The sites consist of medium sized rocks which are hard to walk on and unlevel. A water pipe on the site next to our site was wrapped in aluminum foil (no idea why), there is no grass or trees on the transient sites. The full time, seasonal sites are very close together, cluttered with everything but the kitchen sink, including sheds. And, they barely have room for cars, causing the cars to overhang into the street, making the way in and out, with a large rig, difficult. Someone parked a big pickup truck on our site all day. Another camper with a very large 5th wheel parked his rig with his truck in front of it and left the resort for 6 days. He did not return by our check out day making it impossible for us to pull out of our Super Premium, costly site. Luckily, a nice gentleman came along to stop traffic while my husband backed our 40' motorhome into the narrow alley/street dragging the hitch on the asphalt. The bathrooms were old, dirty and needed updating. The entire 7 days we were there, there was no soap in the dispensers. YUCK! I've been to many campgrounds and RV resorts and by far, this was the worst! ||This is a Sun Resorts Company property. I'm shocked they have such...
Read moreWe had a lovely Columbus Day weekend at Shady Pines, but if I am being honest, this is not the place for everyone. 1/2 of this park is 55+ and the other 1/2 is a combo of long-term campers and clean stone covered lots with a fire ring, picnic table and hook ups for short term camping. | The first thing that jumps out at you is how QUIET it is!! We pulled in late, and we had "neighbors", so I was very conscious of our noise level! I am loud in general and can see how someone may be disappointed if you showed up with big loud group or a gang of kids! That said, they do have a pool and a small playground. They are kid friendly but, in my opinion, this is for couples or the older/mature camper. | Bathrooms and showers are SUPER CLEAN!!! Maybe the cleanest I have seen while camping! Extremely friendly residents and staff. Practically everyone has a dog, so they are super pet friendly and there is even a little fenced in dog run.| Great if you have activities planned in the area or if you are stopping while on a long journey! We attended the "Irish Festival" at one of my favorite places, Historic Smithville and went antiquing at "Days of Old Antique center. Atlantic city is about 20 min away, so you are close to the beach & casinos. Nature preserves are also in the area. |Many places to dine out, urgent care is close, and Shop Rite is just down the street in case you are in need...
Read moreA wonderful place. Very friendly people. Local community friendly. Geographically perfect to visit the tri-state area New Jersey New York Pennsylvania and all its wonderful history. Current events are usually happening daily in various cities in Atlantic County area. Activities have slowed down. Beautiful area to visit. Remember while visiting this campground: Be friendly, you are all neighbors for as long as you are here!!! Think logically, the lots are designed spaciously. Pull in parking is suggested. Allowing vehicle emissions too dissipate in the street area while idling or warming up. Parking backward in the Lots trap the emissions between the lots and under the units. You will be considered not a friendly camper Look for outdoor local events Winter season is beautiful in Atlantic County. Share the events with your neighbors.
