Decided to try this hotel based on reviews on other sites as there weren't any current ones on this site. They weren't that bad for a Rodeway Inn. ||Issue #1 Check-In and attempting to scan my ID. |The person checking me in was going to scan my ID and I refused to allow it. This can lead to identity theft and you don't want a hotel storing such information in their cheap hotel personal computers. I refused to allow it and he stated it was hotel policy. I stated it was my policy not to allow it and I would cancel my reservation and go elsewhere as I still had time to do so before the deadline to cancel. He relented and just looked at it instead to make sure my information was correct which is all they need to really do. ||Issue #2 Gross and Disgusting Garbage in room. |Upon entering the room I check it over good for cleanliness and this is what I found. An empty water bottle and used Kleenex in the garbage can and a half eaten container of food in the refrigerator. Gross and disgusting. I then checked the room over very thoroughly and the rest of the room was clean. I checked the tub and shower, toilet, counters, etc. and everything was acceptable. So I did not go request another room since I wasn't sure what I would get. But there is NO EXCUSE for leaving disgusting garbage like this in a room. ||I asked for a quiet room and was put in a room closest to the road. This hotel is on a busy road but I still got a good nights sleep with ear plugs. ||I left before breakfast so I can't comment on that. ||Would I stay here again? More than likely I would as I believe once they read this review they will take steps to ensure that garbage is removed from rooms. As far as the ID scanning goes, if they insist on that I will...
Read moreThe office staff is so friendly and easy to talk to when checking in. They make the checking process so nice and simple. And they are always happy to help or answer any concern or question you may have. The rooms are a nice comfortable size the beds are a good size and comfortable not to mention the rooms are always so fresh and clean when I checked in. And the property is so peaceful and quiet it's so easy to kick back on my bed and just relax and forget about the whole day. And I always get a good night's sleep being that it's so quiet and peaceful there. And I love how well lit up the parking lot is it makes it more safe and secure if you need to go outside for any reason during the night. With it being so well lit up it makes me more comfortable to take my dog out at night. There's no loud parties in other rooms no riff raff hanging about or homeless people sleeping under or on the stairs like I've experienced at a few other motels I've visited. Just a calm peaceful and relaxing time when I'm there. Oh and don't let me forget about the breakfast. They have a pancake machine that makes those cute little silver dollar sized pancakes. I love those. They're almost too cute to eat. And with 4 different types of cereal I get a good variety each day. And it's satisfying. What can I say I just...
Read moreThe room had a horrible odor of smoke. I know it was a smoking room but this was very strong. I have stayed in other smoking rooms before and the smell was not there.
Room looked clean but the sheets smelled of smoke too so obviously they where not clean either. He told me when I check in that it was smoking. He made it a point to make sure I understood that. I thought that was just because some people are allergic etc. But he obviously knew it was going to stink.
Breakfast. I would not call waffles breakfast. States hot breakfast I expect more than waffles.
Upon checking in I was very tired and was done with check in when I discovered this was a choice hotel. I have a discount through the Southern Cruisers Riding Club. I said to the clerk oh I didn't realize this was a choice hotel. He looked at me like he didn't want to change it now. I told him don't worry about it and went on.
We also had trouble sleeping because of the hard bed and the room never really got cool enough. Although I may try this chain again (if I can get my wife to do it) I will most likely never return to...
