Genesis Health Clubs - Goddard — Attraction in Goddard

After being excited about signing up for a membership and telling my friends, I found out that I am paying significantly more for my membership than everyone else I know who is a member (about twice as much as everyone else). Also, the day I signed up and had to pay sign up fees, I recieve an email saying I could sign up today and pay no sign up fees.

I was watching one of the Personal Trainers have one of the Memebers doing an exercise that was basically a push up but with his hands on barbells stood up on end, it looked like the kid was going to fall on his face and brek his nose. The hours at some of the locations are really poor (Rock Road). If you are interested in the classes, most are at a time when you will probably be at work (most classes are within 9AM to 6PM). Some of the classes are at the same time on the same days at different locations, so don't think you will be able to go to that particular class you like several times a week by just going to different locations on different nights. Some of the machines are in poor condition. West 13th has a bunch of missing tiles in the men's steam room that could cut you if you didn't see them (and it smells gross). In the men's shower area at West 13th some of the granite dividers have come unglued from the wall and present a safety hazard. Also they don't have very many sanitizer bottles around, so people don't really wipe down the machine when they are done and I don't see the employees cleaning them either.

I had a really bad experience with this branch! The staff is really unprofessional and rude, they don’t listen to the customer! When I came here for the first time to get info the girl (staff) who was guiding me looked high and wasn’t responding really clearly, when I asked her if I need to cancel my membership when do I need to give the notice and she told me that I should give it before 4-5 days! When I came here to cancel it they told me that I should’ve told them a month ago!! When I told them to bring in the lady who guided me, they told me that she doesn’t work here anymore and then told me she moved. They were telling me a complete different thing about the girl every time which showed they were lying. And when I complained about the lady being high they started being rude and told me I was stating a false statement! I respect the rules and regulations but why isn’t the staff informed with the rules and misguiding me! I have other clubs I go to but in this club my experience...

Me and my boyfriend went here just this past weekend to get in a quick workout. We called prior to see about a day pass and they told us that was an option and to come in and they’d get us set up for a day pass NOT a membership. We got there and they spent OVER an hour talking about different membership plans and trying to pressure us into a membership when we made it very clear over the phone we did not want a membership. Then they proceeded to take my drivers license and say “they were going to hold on to it until after our workout in case we decide we wanted a membership”. After our workout they took both of us into the office and judged us for not wanting a membership and will not stop calling and harassing us about one. This place is extremely rude, judgmental, and unprofessional. They advertise not having a contract when u sign up but there is and they scam you out of money. This place will no longer be getting...
