Service is poor (when you can find someone). When information is required on a product/service the employees have little/no experience in the inquired, or any related, fields. The employees are not "happy to help" customers. It seems that customers are burdens to them (with the exception of a Polynesian that greets you). I've received wrong information so much that I started to test the quality of the answers provided by the employees (surprise, very few of them were correct). Every other hardware store, Ace, Lowe's, etc... hire trained and experience employees who can give you a step by step and are knowledgeable of local building codes. Sometimes, because employees are very hard to find, I helped other customers and they always tell me that I've been the most help they have ever received at this store.
The prices are higher for products/services than compared to nearly any other similar hardware store. Lowe's for example, have better quality products and are less expensive. Home Depot had 10 strawberry seedlings for $9 (the product, all of them, when opened had slime molds), Lowe's had 12 strawberry seedlings for $4 (and they were beautiful, and they had a larger variety).
The plants are weak across the board. I only have 1 of dozens of plants I purchased from Home Depot that survived past a few months after purchase. Almost every plant I purchased from any other nursery (especially from Happy Life Gardens) thrive.
Greeley Home Depot is an absolutely miserable place. The employees have no pride in there work (at least, any that is recognizable). The store is a mess, yes it is a hardware store, but the products should at least be in the proper place with price tags (the labels are often incorrect). The store feels dismal when you walk in, due to poor displays and overwhelming over stock. The floors can at least be swept more often. For example, go to Ace and look at there displays they are light and make sense, or go to Lowe's who also uses over stock, the aisles are still well lit and seem open. And, both of the latter mentioned stores are always clean, the employees are happy, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Just go to another store; better products, better prices, better people, and you will thank yourself at the...
Read moreMy 75 year old mom just bought all new kitchen appliances from this store & had an awful experience. The manager that she contacted afterwards did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation and acted as if she could care less. The dishwasher they delivered was too big and instead of taking it with them they left it there and said it wasn't their job to take back merchandise. As a result my mom couldn't get a replacement delivered until they finally sent someone out a week later to pick up the one that was too big. On top of that one of the original delivery guys took off with a part that my mom purchased herself from another store. When my mom contacted a manager & explained how the gentleman took something that belonged to her, she didn't offer to compensate my mom or remedy the situation in any way. I'm pretty sure that's considered theft. Also, the microwave they delivered was dented, the delivery guys said it came that way and wasn't their responsibility then when my mom went to use it, it made a horrific sound and didn't even work. As a result my mother was without a microwave until they got around to sending someone out to replace it. It sickens me to think how much money my mom spent at Home Depot on a new refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and microwave only to be given low quality merchandise and then receive such terrible customer service when she reached out to remedy the situation. My mom has MS and this entire experiance has taken a toll. Unfortunately our entire family will no longer spend our hard earned money at Home Depot.
A business's integrity is often revealed more clearly during times of crisis or when faced with customer complaints than during routine operations. How a business handles situations when things go wrong – particularly complaints – can demonstrate its true character, values,...
Read moreThe Home Depot usually has what we need for a project and they have a decent selection to choose from for most items.
Unfortunately, if you are having trouble finding something or need any help while shopping, that is when you run into trouble. You literally have to walk all over the store trying to find someone who works there to help you and usually when you do find someone, they are trying to assist several customers already so you end up having to wait a while before they can help you. Then a lot of times the response is that they don't have an answer for you or don't know where an item is because they don't work in that department and they say they will have an associate that covers that department come talk to you which leads to more waiting. The employees are usually polite, the store is just understaffed and the employees seem to be overwhelmed.
On our most recent visit we needed to have a piece of wood cut and after locating what we wanted and spending another 15 minutes trying to find someone to help us we were told that the guy that worked in the lumber area had 2 other people to help and then they'd send him over to us. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes to have a piece of wood cut. Then we had to wait about another 10 minutes in line to pay because there were not a lot of registers open and there was a bottleneck of people trying to check out, so something that should have taken maybe 15 minutes tops took us about an hour and 15 minutes to accomplish.
Adding more employees so we could get the help we need when shopping would change our middle of the road 3 star...
