My trip to Ulta today was a mixed bag. Ofcourse, as usual, they carried all the right products and more. Probably, the best attribute of this chain is their selection of high end products. So many times, at other brand stores, I feel limited in my choices, but not here. That being said, I arrived at the store in my "project clothes" ( jeans and t-shirt ). Ii was actually soaked at how I was greeted and served. I have always gone to this location after work and therefore!; in suit and tie. To say I was tested differently would be an understatement. The young women there, I presume, take their guidance from the more experienced staff. Well, let me say that in my opinion the managerial appearing women spoke in a condescending manner, to myself, on two separate occasions. I was made to feel unwelcome and treated(for lack of a better word) like a criminal. She may want to reevaluate judging someone solely by their clothes in the future, because I guarantee you, if we were to meet in my official capacity, she certainly would not have tested me in such a way. Hopefully, someone will take an interest in this matter and make some changes. In conclusion, I didn't leave the store empty handed and was happy with the selection and pricing. Besides, the aforementioned employee, the other troubling issue, I experienced, was the announcement regarding the samples. To have them on display AND labled, as samples and to announce that due to"the pandemic" they are merely to be seen, to me seemed absurd. Either take them off the shelves or have a procedure to keep them sanitary. Such precautions should've been in place, pre-pandemic, after all it has always been a labor intensive job, to ensure the cleanliness of so many items, touched by so many people. Again, a procedure, I believe, would be a better idea for sales, but I'm lieu of that, of finding enough help is a problem, removing the samples, until a procedure is developed would be my alternative. I have tried to be as unbiased as the experience has allowed me to be and as helpful and informative to both the staff and future patrons...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely horrible customer service. I've been working as a manager in customer service for over 16 years and the ONLY time I go into this store is if I completely run out of a product, otherwise it's online purchases only. I just went in today and wasn't greeted. I was walking around trying to find my products going in circles because I don't know where things are in the store. After walking around going up and down, I see girls stocking products, chit chatting with each other and still no help, no "Hi can I help you find anything?" I found a few products and now I NEED to find someone for my perfume. I asked one girl for help and thankfully she did. She was nice and helped me and I thought ok this wasn't as bad as the previous visits, what a joke I told myself! She told me she gave the girl at the register my perfume for when I was ready to check out. So I started to go to check out and of course found more goodies I wanted, I grabbed them and no one was in front of me but the girl at the register wasn't paying attention to anybody so after a second I asked if I could come up and check out. "Yeah"she replied. So I put my products down and she looked at one of my products (lemme glow lollipops) and said "oh you can eat this?" I got so excited because I LOVE these things and I started telling her about them, she had no care in the world. After asking me if I'd like to sign up for their credit card, I politely declined, she became rude and dismissive. This girl didn't even say "have a good day" or "thanks for shopping with us." NOTHING!!! It doesn't matter if I go in best dressed, glammed up or in sweats these employees are just horrible and make shopping miserable!! It's because of these interactions I shop and purchase at Ulta online a lot. Funny thing is I used to manage the Elizabeth Arden counter at Dillard's way back in the day and OUR goal was to make everyone feel welcome and have them leave feeling beautiful, knowledgeable and wanting to come back. Sad how times have changed, guess it's just about sales goals and hitting your...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePretty bad customer service I have to say. I donāt typically do the review thing but felt like I should share to keep people from wasting time here. Says they have a product online thatās avaible at all the nearest stores to me. Called the closest one to ask if they could hold the product for me that online says they have. They couldnāt find the product that online says they have. I asked if they could assist me in finding a location that does because if I canāt rely on the online in stock feature I donāt want to waste my time calling a bunch of different stores that say they have it to find out they donāt. The employee couldnāt be bothered for one she claimed she had no way to see other stores inventory... Strange because online customers can? Secondly wouldnāt call other stores to track one down for me and told me I needed to do so. Surprised to see how unwilling she was to help me spend money at the company she works for. This is probably a good example of why people are ordering online (Amazon) to avoid poor and lazy service such as this. I would just order online (Amazon) you canāt rely on what online says as far as inventory goes in stores and well the employees donāt care to help you find the product either if itās not in stock they got nothing for you.
Update: Called another store... She didnāt even know what the product was... Again online says they have it. She asked us to describe what the product looked like wouldnāt bother to look up the product on the computer or her phone. Then told us they donāt carry this product because itās only for professionals... But it very clearly can be ordered online and not to mention says I can come to your store and purchase it in store. She just told us they donāt carry it to avoid actually looking lol Thatās two...
