I recently purchased a $1200 (+-) King size mattress/foundation/rails from a mattress firm store #078007 in Greenville, NC on Greenville Blvd in the parking lot of Best Buy. There were two associates working the day of my visit. The first man, Joseph Morris, was professional and efficient. Joseph had an impressive knowledge of Mattress FIRM products and was affable. But unfortunately his associate brings this rating to a 1 (it would be lower if it were possible). David Kowalski was obnoxious and rude. Our first visit, David did not bother speaking to us and although this was ill-mannered considering our proximity, I'd decided not to think much of it and continued with my purchase. I called a couple days later to inquire about my order and David answered the phone. He told me he could not help me because he had a customer in front of him he was helping. I told him I understood and I would be glad to hold while he assisted his customer, David then raised his voice at me declining my proposal to hold (not sure why this angered him), he then took my number and told me he would call me back once his customer left. He did not know I'd pulled into the parking lot and was watching him lie to me as he sat at his desk inside of an empty store. Upon hanging up the phone, I immediately got out of my car and walked into the empty store: "I thought you were assisting customers?", I said knowing he wasn't having watched him in the store (alone) the duration of our phone call. David then lied and said that the couple quickly left to go to Best Buy. I disregarded his lie and went on to ask him to assist me w/ the inquiry concerning my recent purchase, I handed him my order reciept, he smacked his lips (like an adolescent girl) and quickly snatched the order paper from my hand uttering "...Jesus Christ..." under his breath. I am not a fan of atrocious customer service, but more so: I am not fan of disrespect to the Lords name. He then, finally, looked in the computer and assisted me in answering my question. I have never received such horrible customer service and I certainly did nothing to warrant such treatment. Upon leaving I called the corporate number, left a message and asked someone to reach out to me concerning my experience, that was over a week ago and no one has contacted me as of yet. While mattresses are essential, they certainly are not a commodity. There are furniture stores with competitive prices on every other corner in Greenville NC and cities alike. Read moreI went to get a new mattress to replace the one I bought a few years back. I was actually greeted and waited on by the area manager in charge of a bunch of stores. He looked up my last purchase for me and found it was only 5 years old and under a 10yr prorated warranty. He printed off my actual sales receipt and explained how to handle my warranty and told me it would be up to 10 days before I’d get the credit. I told him I was looking to get one today and he told me we’d work something out and showed me a few different beds. I finally settled on one that was a little more than I was planning on spending but when everything was said and done it worked out to be just a few dollars more but I got a much better mattress than I was planning on. The store manager and area manager fixed me right up. Thank you guys for getting me on a new mattress for a good fair price. Can’t wait for delivery...

This was the easiest and least pressured purchase I have ever made! Jacob was the most helpful and conscientious mattress salesperson I have ever worked with; and I have purchase 6 mattress sets in the last 7 years. He asked simple questions to be sure what I wanted was the best fit for my needs. He did not try to up-sell me on products with features I didn't want or need. He was fair and great with sale pricing and set-up/delivery. And, my favorite part, he treated me with the respect a person shows another when it is clear they understand the subject matter.
