ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I have never in my life dealt with poorer management than I have here. We have stayed at this hotel a total of 4 different nights, the first two times, no issues, it was great. The second time when we had two nights in a row and wanted to add a third was the issue. We had originally booked the room for two nights, we paid, no problem, and the second day in decided we needed to stay another night. We go down probably around 9:30pm and we add another night, for some strange reason instead of just charging us for the extra night, the system tried to recharge us again for 3 full nights even though they already got their money for the first two, and we had the receipt and bank statement to prove it. No manager was working, so we were told to wait till the morning to speak to one, so we head up and go to bed. Early early in the morning, I hear my phone go off multiple times, I take a look and it was my banking app saying that the hotel was trying to charge my card. There was a total of 6 unauthorized attempts on my card by the time the app fully opened, without me knowing or giving them approval. Luckily I had moved my money back into my savings or they would have stolen it. My husband and I head down to the front desk to get told by a "manager" that we were checked out FIVE HOURS EARLY "because your card was declined for the third night" while they were trying to still charge us for three extra nights instead of one, even though WE ALREADY PAID FOR THE TWO and still paid for the 5 hours we were so kindly "checked out" without our knowing. The manager "Ranee" was the one trying to attempt unauthorized charges on my card and on top of that had an extremely rude attitude, tone and look on her face like we didn't belong there. So after explaining to her and arguing at this point how their system was trying to double charge us, we still asked if we could buy another night now that it's showing us checked out..she now says "sorry, your not allowed too because your debit card doesn't have a chip, and it's our policy" EVEN THOUGH we have stayed there at that time, a total of four nights with the same card, no issues on check in or check out. Extremely poor service, extremely rude and on top of that she lied about giving our information to the owner for them to call us to talk about this situation. Read moreI lived in this 2 star hotel in the beginning of June 2023. Enjoyed my sleep on the medium-soft mattress with no- memory foam pillows, although excellent to support my neck and very comfortable. Entire room + bathroom is very clean, everything works. I didn't have much clothes, so the absence of wardrobe with shelves didn't bother me, just the hangers were enough for me. Have my money with me constantly, didn't expect to see seif here. Have my crackers and some fruits that don't need heating, don't expect to see microwave or toaster here. I am very content with what I have in my room. Bring your eyeshades because the blackout curtains let some light in. The hotel is in walking distance from Vermilion Falls - 5 min to entrance, Froth and Cream and Art Centre - 25 min to walk, Historic downtown - 35 min to walk. On car just 5 -7 min. Some chain restaurants are couple min walking from me. The hotel is located on active and noisy street, but good quality windows are blocking the noise. |Breakfast is modest , if you like panckakes, liquid eggs, cereal and that sort of meal - it's right at your alley. |Don't forget to explore downtown for some authentic restaurant.
