I am going to preface this with the face that I have been a manager in food for many years and managed a Subway for 2 of them.
Tonight was the second night this week we went in to get dinner and the same men were working. I did not see a single one of them wash their hands before putting on gloves. One of them did rinse with water, but we all know that is not good enough. One of them was already on the line with gloves on so I didn't get a chance to see whether or not he did before putting on gloves.
It is very upsetting in general to see a food service employee not wash their hands before putting on gloves. It completely defeats the purpose of the gloves. On top of that, we are in a global pandemic where hand washing is EXTREMELY important and your customers are trusting you to have their safety at the top of your priority as you serve them. They are risking going out into the public and giving you business during a time where it's advised to stay home. It is a normal basic function to wash your hands before servings food (and putting on gloves to do so) and it is more important than ever.
The two women who I have seen working there (I think managers) are ALWAYS pleasant and great at the service they provide. They wash their hands, but it is important to know when your staff is not following the standard safety guidelines that are required to work in food service.
Frankly it is disgusting and if they were my employees they would be on a 3 strikes you're out policy with write-ups for it.
We are constantly touching stuff. One of them just got done sweeping. Do you know if that broom have ever been washed? I'm gonna bet not... All of the germs that he had on his hand from that broom just got on the outside of his gloves and onto all of the food he touched.... This is how people get sick! It's not OK.
I know what food service is like. I understand the pressures of being short staffed and needing to get things done. I understand wanting to take short cuts because of that. What I cannot ever approve of is taking that short cut on hand washing. You literally have the well-being of your customers in your hands when you are serving them food and if you don't wash your hands before putting on gloves you might as well be serving them bare-handed.

Read moreI never leave reviews… but I had to this time. I just ordered online for pickup and when I got home I realized that was a horrible mistake.
Hands down the worst quality-made subway sandwich I’ve ever gotten. My sandwich wasn’t even cut in half aside from the top half of the bun (no big deal), the bread was dry and stale, the American cheese was piled in the center, almost zero lettuce, meat was falling off, and there’s no chance they put the extra mayo I requested on the sandwich. I literally had to rebuild the whole thing. To spend $25 on 2 basic subway sandwiches and a cookie that I didn’t get, is blasphemy when it’s done this poorly. That is including the 15% tip I gave in advance of picking up the order hoping they might make sure the order was done well. The second sandwich hasn’t been opened yet but I can only imagine it will be worse since mine was a...
Read moreLale was very rude and put my sandwich together like an amateur. My footlong was almost in 4 parts it was so bad. Everyone else seemed to respectful and do a good job as I've never had a problem with this location before, but will not be returning while she is employed. Feel sorry for her coworkers since they probably don't make many tips with her attitude, still tipped $5 in the hopes the rest of the employees would walk away with something for doing all the...
