Very fun to explore. Love the sound of the waterfall. I had never been here before. We visited last week ( February). It would be really pretty in the fall months.
Be careful, the rocks are slippery, and the trail was really muddy when we visited.
Plenty of parking, even on a busy Sunday. There is a porta potty in the parking lot.
If you follow the trail along the fence, next to the river, and cross the bridge, you can continue on to explore the old ruins.
Sadly there was a lot of trash everywhere. I wish people would be more respectful.

Read more1st of all, this is much larger than the picture looks. I was impressed with the views & the work that's been done around the park to accommodate the viewers perspective. As always these days an influencer got to close, unable to help themselves, causing search & rescue to come retrieve the poor girl. Aside from the police, ambulance, fire trucks, it was a very nice oasis smack in the middle of our little city. Read moreA hidden gem in Hastings, barely a block off Vermillion Street/Hwy 61, is a beautiful falls, next to ConAgra mill. There is a lovely gazebo that is a great spot for pictures or gazing at the falls, plus it is right next to the walking/bike path along the Vermillion River.
You can also reserve the larger pavillion for family gatherings, graduation celebrations, reunions or picnics. There is plenty of parking for most events, and even a couple of port a Johns, one is handicap accessible. It really is must see...
