Location: great, 5-10min drive from Volcano National Park visitor centre car park. It is quietly tucked away so keep your eyes peeled when first locating it!|Very quiet during the day.. then at dusk beware the tiny noisy frogs that sound like they have a terrible case of the hiccups! Just take ear plugs. Sorted.||Room: has everything you need and more. Big comfy bed, fans (no AC here) big bathroom, microwave and mini kitchenette which was handy for breakfast.||Parking: bit muddy in a few spots, enough space for every one’s cars.||Staffing: this place is self check in just abide by the signage around the place and you’re good (much like you would in a B&B) ||I’d stay here again, a bed is a bed when you’ve been out exploring all day, as long as it’s clean and comfortable (which Lokaki Lodge is)...

And there was a great breeze through the windows. Only thing to be aware of is the beds are VERY firm, as they’re on a wooden platform, no boxspring. We were only here for one night just so we could see the Volcanoes National Park and a bit of Hilo. |You check yourself in, keys and info are left for you which is super easy.|We got such a wow factor walking into the room, it was spacious and beautifully decorated, so different from all the beach hotels. |There are also restaurants and shops just down the road which is handy.|The only thing I'd say that may be an issue for some people is the noise, being in amongst the trees there is a lot of bird noise through the night.
