This was our most disappointing experience of a 12-day trip to Hawaii. Our family of 5 spent $779 to rent 5 e-bikes. We have biked thousands of miles over 25 years near our home in western Pennsylvania, have lots of experience, and thoroughly enjoy biking. Our main problem with this self-guided tour is that too much of the time we were on roads with cars. Lots of cars. It was a Friday, and the volcano had erupted early in the morning, so maybe there was more traffic than normal, but it was not pleasant riding with and around so many cars. At one point my 16-year old daughter called it scary, and I agreed. Had there been designated bike paths, that would be one thing. Instead we were either sharing trails mainly meant for walking, or sharing main roads with cars. We also had to cross a 55 MPH road to access the trail into Volcanoes National Park. It was a waste of nearly $800 that we regret spending. The bikes themselves were in excellent condition and worked well. It was fun trying e-bikes for the first time. And people who are used to riding bikes on roads might not be as bothered as we were with the traffic. But I would not recommend this for kids. Some of the roads we were on were very steep, and even with my many years of biking experience I had to be very, very careful. My husband struggled to get the app to work, which is the main point of a self-guided tour. Mine worked fine. But it will drain your phone battery so be sure you're 100% charged before...
Read moreThis was such a fantastic experience! The e-bikes were in wonderful condition and the owner took her time explaining how to use them and ensuring we were comfortable. She does not come on the tour with you but provides a GPS and audio guide, which was preferable because then we could make our own schedule. The GPS guide was also excellent and extremely precise, we had no trouble navigating the park. She also includes audio bites for the stops along the tour that were very interesting! She told us that she has been doing tours of the volcanoes since 2007 and that if we ran into any trouble we could just FaceTime her and she would help us out. The tour itself was amazing and her route took us through the entire park, guiding us on where the best places to stop would be. It took us about the entire 6 hours, but we stopped for lots of pictures and snacks along the way. Lastly, you do not have to be a professional biker to get through this! The e-bikes make the inclines very doable for both new and experienced bikers. All-in-all, this was a wonderful tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area seeking to tour the Volcanoes...

• Faulty Equipment: During our rental, Jennifer’s seat lock adjustable did not stay in place, posing safety risks. This issue forced us to return the equipment early. Unfortunately, your team did not offer any compensation or alternative solutions.
• Deposit Handling: Your policy should involve returning the deposit after service completion, followed by charging the customer. However, this was not the case in our situation.
• Operating Hours Discrepancy: Your website advertises day rentals, but I discovered that your shop is only open for 6 hours. This discrepancy caused inconvenience and confusion during our rental period.
• GPS Guide Requirements: While your website mentions the need for a smartphone for GPS guidance, it fails to specify that headphones or earbuds are also necessary. Riding with headphones can be unsafe, and this information should be clearly...
