The Lodge at Old Edwards — Hotel in Highlands

While the majority of our stay here was wonderful, the level of service and the condition of our accomodations were less than I would expect from one of the top resorts in the country.

We requested an early check in on the Friday of our arrival. While I understand that early check in is not a guarantee, when we stopped in to the main office (staying at the lodge) they told us that our room was ready.

We arrived at the lodge and was told that the housekeeping staff was currently in the room cleaning it, so we decided to wait. An hour and a half later, the room still was not ready. I am assuming that it doesn't take an hour and a half to turn a room around, so I can only guess that telling us that someone was in the room was a lie.

Once we got into the room, the attention to detail that you would expect from a $700 a night resort was severely lacking. There was paint on some of the towel holders, missing paint on the walls, the dresser was nearly impossible to open and close, etc. We were absolutely disappointed with the quality of the room.

Outside of that however, the service was impeccable, the grounds were very well maintained, and the views were fantastic. We did try out the spa, which was super relaxing, as well as Madison's restaurant, which was first class.

The staff did have a nice surprise waiting for us when we arrived Saturday night, after our wedding. The bed was covered in rose petals, and a small bottle of champagne was on the dresser. We did...

Denied service due to having a service animal. Completely discriminating and unacceptable they should train their manager on...
