I prefer not to leave bad reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about this place to avoid at all cost. Waited for over an hour for a table for 6, the restaurant does a poor job of service, so that explains the slow turn of tables. 1. Waitress didn’t want to walk around table it seems, and took order for entire table at one end. Almost impossible to hear her or ask questions for to sound level being so loud. 2. When food was deleivered, she had forgotten to put in one order. Entire table finished dinner before they brought out the missing dinner for that person. Server said the kitchen is swamped so it’s taking extra time to get the sandwich made. Poor excuse. 3. One of the dishes, salad with salmon, was ordered as medium well to well done. Salmon came out raw, and cold, inedible unless you wanted sushi. But it’s not close to sushi grade salmon. 4. We asked to speak to manager…took them 30+ mins to find the manager. When the manager came out he apologized and said he’d take off those two meals. Then he added the “but”. He said “I’m sorry, but we serve 1000 people on the weekend so there’s going to be some problems” Maybe the problem is serving 1000 people on the weekend. Cut it back to 700 and maybe the service will improve. 5. It took 40 mins after we were seated for a server to come to the table. The bartender felt bad and said he didn’t know if the server had showed up for work yet. THEN WHY WERE WE SEATED IF THERE WAS NO SERVER? He brought us drinks while we waited. After the meal…same server who refused to walk around table to take the order, also wouldn’t walk around the table to collect the dirty plates from one end of the table, only the side of the table she could reach from the opposite end. Weird. Food was less than mediocre at best. The schitck is the photos of people’s dogs on the walls, definitely not because of the food quality. But even if the food was average, the service ruined the meal for all of us. When we shared our experiences with some friends over the weekend, the consensus was everyone who dined at the Highlands location had a similar horror story. Dine at your own risk.

One of my most favorite places to go eat in the Highlands. Great bar with a couple TVs but very little seating at the bar but there are a few high tops around to to watch a game. The main restaurant has several high tops and of course tables so there’s always other places to sit. The environment can get loud when they get packed. Every time I go they are very busy for both lunch and dinner so I suggest getting there early- usually lines waiting to get in. There’s also an outside patio with about 5 tables around the corner if you want to sit outside.. The menu has a lot of healthy options, the chef is excellent and has a great variety of different kinds of foods and salads that you would not expect in “pub” type restaurant. The people are wonderfully nice and the food is delicious every time I go, my favorite is the blue cheese coleslaw it is amazing. I’ve had several meals here this is just one of many, if you’re in town and you want an afternoon of good food this is it. Kid friendly and great laid back environment. Parking on the street is limited so go early get a good spot or just walk from your hotel.

Just a very quaint and fun place to go, the staff extra friendly and the food was so very tasteful...Wings, hot dog and Rueben were our choices...the wings were really good had a dry rub on them and they come with 2 dipping sauces of your choosing... the Rueben sandwich on Rye was DEElish😊 and I suggest the Blue cheese come slaw as a side ...I am going back just for the slaw definitely a fan of it once I tasted it!!! Lots to choose from...2 full Bars available for your fav alcohol beverage... and they can seat small groups or just a date night for 2...large TV's placed around to watch as you dine...restrooms well kept and tidy...they have an area to sanitize your hands before and after eating...May you have a great time at The Ugly Dog...they have pics of all types of 🐩 dogs 🐶 to look at as you wait or dine at the table, so bring your fav dog pic in a frame and the name of it...they just might place it with the other surrounding dog picks...🐕 ENJOY 😊 The SmithClan

First of all, I want to say that I had a mushroom in Swiss burger with tater tots and it was excellent. Couple that with a couple Dale's Ale IPAs and the evening was going nice. Getting to the pre-wedding gathering late, I sat down with friends who already ate. Their plates /glasses/dirty napkins sat on the table for over 30mins without the server clearing the stuff off the table. When another guest who was late also showed up we moved to a table adjacent to our former table that had been cleared of dirty dishes. It was later at night by this time and there wasn't that many people in the restaurant it was obvious that the crowd had died out and was dwindling down Several minutes after moving to the cleared table, the hostess was very rude to my friend telling him that he should not move to a clear table without consulting her. I understand the premise but you don't have to be rude. I've worked in restaurant work before and that happens when servers don't clean their tables people get tired of sitting at tables with dirty dishes. We told our server about it and he was no help at all. So we had the manager come by the table to express our frustration about a Hostess being rude to us while we were spending good money at this place. The manager apparently has no spine and did not give us any satisfaction on this issue. I mean there is a way to say what the hostess said without being rude. It's very frustrating when you tell the manager that you sat at a table for over 30 minutes without any dishes being cleared off the table and then we're treated rudely by the hostess, when you got tired of staring at dirty dishes and move to a clean table. The server tried to play it off saying that they were very busy but he hardly came by our table at all. He wasn't the friendliest person either. So I think both of them need some retraining in customer service as well as the manager. In the end the manager did ask us what he could do to make it okay for us, but we didn't ask for any cops or anything like that we simply wanted an apology from the rude person. Maybe that's the way this generation acts and doesn't think anything about it but I will never go there again and spend my hard-earned money. I worked in restaurant work in college and would have never acted like that to a patron. Certainly if we did the managers that we had would have asked me to apologize to the patron or show me the door. Once again the food was excellent, the beer was cold. I guess I just expected more from this place and its staff. I'm very disappointed in the way we...

We had such high hopes coming to this restaurant after a nice trek to Dry Falls. What a let down. We were told the soup of the day was chicken & garbanzo beans. We each ordered a bowl & the appetizer of pretzels & queso. My husband ordered the special (home fries with an egg on top) & i ordered the salmon blt, without the bread. The pretzels came out with butter pouring from the bottom of the paper cone. We were given no utensils or napkins. I had to ask the hostess to wipe our table down because our server was nowhere to be found. A different server finally brings out 1 bowl of soup & my salmon blt. My husband & I look at each other & very quickly see that this is beef stew & not the chicken & garbanzo soup. The same server brought out the other bowl after checking. Honest mistake, no big deal. Our server finally comes by & apologized for the mix up. Again, we tell him no big deal. Then he looks at my husband sitting there with no entree & says he's going to check on it. A few minutes later he comes back & apologizes again & says he forgot to tell the kitchen about my husband's order, but it's on right now & will be right out. I bite into this delicious looking fried green tomato & get a mouthful of instant disappointment. The crust was fried nicely, but the tomato inside was cold & my salmon was medium well, not rare like I had asked. The server then walks by at least 7 times without stopping to check on us, take our empty plates & bowls. 15 minutes later, I am done. I'm not sure if the lady I spoke with was a manager or just a trainer, but she came out & apologized & offered drinks. I told her to cancel my husband's order, bring a box for my food & a bowl for my soup, & the check. She brought the check & said they took 20% off. That was fine. I told her it was all completely unacceptable & how upset I was. She asked me to wait, then came back & said we were good to go. They took care of the check. I appreciate that, but that was not my end goal. I just want the server to do better or ask for help. It was an extremely unfortunate experience & could have been avoided with a little bit more care & customer service...
