While visiting Highlands, NC last weekend, I took my niece and nephew to the Biological Center, and we had a wonderful time!
We walked there from The Park On Main (where we were staying), not really sure what we would find, and we were so impressed! Not only is the Nature Center well maintained and educational, staffed by extremely friendly and well-informed people, but the grounds are downright magical!
From the moss garden with the Winnie The Pooh house to the Botanical Gardens, it was all peaceful, beautiful, and perfectly maintained, and I could have spent the whole day wandering in that fairy land or sitting on one of the many benches just soaking up all the calming nature.
