My sister and I visited 11/5-11/12 and enjoyed our 2-BR villa in this tranquil, 30-unit property within walking distance of Harbour Town. Checkin was a breeze with the assistance of Ms. Wilma who is a social media rock star and 5-star asset to Heritage Club. She was very helpful pre-trip and arranged for bicycles and shared details for retrieving Sea Pines gate pass and deadline for checkin at property. She gave us dining tips and recommendations which were spot on. She is a joyful person and obviously enjoys her position which is demonstrated by her competent and positive attitude.
Our only item of concern during our visit was the âheatedâ pool. I swim in the 72-degree Homosassa Springs in FL and the water temp was comparable to that. Gauge reading was 75-80 degrees during our stay but felt much colder so most guests opted for the hot tub. The few hardy poolside peeps mentioned the temp to Marriott staff who strolled by outside. The pool remained very chilly until our last day when a personable Jamaican engineer made some adjustments, chatted with us and said âNo Problem âMonâ and we felt heat coming out of the spouts in the pool immediately. We were on the go and busy throughout the week so that issue was a blip on our radar. We utilized the bike paths and rode all over the plantation to Harbour Town, Lawton Stables, Salty Dog at South Beach, etc. We are not golfers, but other guests took advantage of the nearby stellar courses and golf package.
Our villa was well appointed and had undergone extensive renovation since I last stayed there. The dated whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces have vanished. Our unit was spacious with an excellent floor plan for privacy among guests. The kitchen has everything you need and we did cook a couple of dinners that week, but ate out the majority of the time. There is a nice grill area which was cleaned to epic proportions by staff and the property landscaping is beautiful and also spotless.
We had a great week and hope to return soon to see Ms. Wilma and unwind Hilton Head...

Unfortunately that doesn't apply any longer and it screams it here. On Saturday when I checked in they told me I had to go way out of the way to check in bc there would be no one attending the area I was in. The kid who checked us in looked at me and said... we don't' have any property for you. After we got a manager involved he then went on to give me a wrong explanation of where I was headed and what I should look for. Really upset at this point decide to let it go. Day 2 keys not working and can't get into the fitness center. After a 20 minute wait someone met me to give me a new key. The fitness center was tiny and the equipment was rusty and broken. We went to dinner tonight to come back and find our keys not working again... normally we use the app for the key but this place isn't up to date yet. It's 930 we're exhausted and now we are again locked out. (Card was kept safely away from other cards, magnets, cell phones etc. Just bad tech... during a time where your tech defines you it's another bad look. When "John" came he had an insane attitude and he threw his hands up in the air like "It's not my fault" and I asked him to simply keep his hands down and open my door. Then he said "Hey I'm just trying to help you here" I said again thanks for that comment it was super helpful... as we're walking to my room he said some other snide comments about the elevator and when he asked me what my problem was I said look on your hat! ...
Read moreOur favorite spot on the island. The villas are roomy with a great floor plan. We've stayed for 2 to 3 months these past couple of years and enjoy the extra storage space this resort offers. Hubby is able to set up his office in the 2nd spacious bedroom. ||The front desk staff of Miss Wilma and Miss Vera can't be beat, and we've stayed at many Marriott Time Shares.||We like that this resort tends to be more adult oriented vs families with lots of kids. It makes sense to me, as you're not on the beach here and activities that would draw families with kids are limited. ||The only negative thing I have to say is Marriott needs a stricter no dogs policy. The policy says no dogs, but service dogs are permitted; so of course people abuse that. I think Marriott should require prove the dogs are indeed service dogs; as many other hotels etc do. Two years running there were dogs whose owners "claimed" them to be service dogs; but anyone could see they most definitely were NOT! We had the misfortune of moving into a room one of dogs had vacated, and the damage left by the dog (torn scratched up carpet and screen) were clearly not made by a service dog. Year 2 the "service" dog barked and wanted to play with people....again, clearly NOT a...
