HE TOLD ME TO LEAVE AND FIND ANOTHER PLACE! I did, in Payson, at a place i highly recommend... read below. I arrived late into Holbrook Baymont by Wyndham, had to ring the bell to awaken (?) a man who appeared a bit disheveled and upon request gave me a downstairs room close to an entrance. I had been driving all day and wanted to sleep before the next leg of my journey on a 2 lane winding route down to phoenix valley. He gave me a key to see the "clean" room before finishing check in. When I complained that the room was not check-in ready having huge scratch marks across inside of entire door...and that's as far into the room as I got... he handed me my card and ID back and told me to leave and find another place. "That just happened yesterday and my maintenance guy is coming tomorrow...go find someplace else to stay!". He was not booked up as he had several room options.
It appears he owns the place and he is too cheap to make repairs and to hire night staff to actually be at the front desk for the night shift. "Yesterday"? "Tomorrow"? Suuuuure...
The door was so torn up and disgusting, it showed me the level of care that is taken to property and attitude towards guests there.
Shame on Wyndham again for aligning with gross, disgusting properties. Only one Baymont I have seen yet that is impeccable for a Whyndham Baymont: the Susanville, CA location is 100% renovated top to bottom, interior, exterior and run by a family group who is extremely sharp, educated, and there at desk to happily greet you all night. A property I recommend if you are ANYwhere near Susanville! I reviewed it with photos.
I am SO happy I left Holbrook and Mr Grouch because I made it to Payson at the Quality Inn on Beeline Highway and had a spacious, clean, quiet room with a gorgeous courtyard to enjoy for much better value. If your journey is taking you also through Payson, I recommend staying at the Payson Quality Inn... it was well worth the late night drive to have the comfort and peace of mind. And cheerful staff! I left a review with...
Read moreI don't really have much to say that is negative. Only slight debris in room at the corners such as the bathroom in terms of cleanliness. Overall, my stay was outstanding. The front desk was nice and the lady acknowledged me. The gentleman was also satisfactory as far as customer service. The negative experience we had here was only that the spa/pool wasn't available. However, considering that it was snowing, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd love it if there were extra linens available. However it wasn't too bad. They had updated amenities. Nice Keurig in the room with pods available such as tea, coffee decaf ect. They had free breakfast which consisted of fruits ,yogurt, cereal, ect. I'd have loved it if the juices provided wasn't from a gallon. It makes me weary of trusting it. The breakfast wasn't that bad however compared to other free breakfasts, it wasn't the best.
They had DirecTV which was a plus when travelling with kids. The beds were neatly made and sheets fresh. They also provided teatree and Paul Mitchell soaps which aren't on the cheap side.
The toilets were small and could be upgraded. They were pretty old.
Overall, the bath tub size was nice and clean. The showerhead was enormous and the water got hot which is great in cold weather.
The towels were not overly used, they were clean and fresh.
Overall, the stay was nice. Great for the price. I would stay again because they are one of the few hotel that also allow you to stay with PETS. THEY CAN ALSO PROVIDE A...
Read moreThis is now our second bad experience at the hotel. The first time we came here 3 years ago, it advertised a pool and pet friendly rooms which is why we booked there... we drove 1000 miles from CA and this was half way stop on our way to TX. We got there and they had closed off the pool for renovation... there was NOTHING listed about there being no pool. We stay that night because we were traveling with a toddler and 2 dogs for 1000 miles and just gave in. This is the second time we accidentally booked the room not realizing it was the same one, again on 1000 mile trip from CA, half way point to TX with a now 6 yr old and a dog. My husband travels for work and had a ton of points so we used the points to book it. Get here and they refuse to give us a room because the said we booked a regular room and not a deluxe room. My husband showed them the points are exactly the same. She said that theyre a different cost, so husband offered to just pay the difference. She refused and told him he had to cancel the reservation and rebook it and he did he lost all his points and she said there is nothing we can do but just pay full price or wait until tomorrow until we can get the points back. We literally only used this as a stop off on a 2000 mile point for an overnight stay. We left and went down the street to a different hotel just base on how rude and...
