Truck driver here... My co driver and I got into town at 945pm last night very tired and hungry. We had been driving all day from Oklahoma to Holbrook AZ. When I called pizzahut at 9:48 I noticed they closed at 10pm. I called because i wanted to ask them " if i give you a good tip will you still come and bring us some good fresh food" knowing they close in 12 minutes. Unfortunately, i was met with a call center out of the Us and no way to talk to the store employees. We decided to roll the dice and order a large 3 topping, wings and a two liter anyways. At 9:54 our order was placed with a pretty decent tip attached. I looked at my co driver and said " They aint coming, im probably gonna have to call the store in the morning and fight to get my money back" At 10pm i jumped in the shower at the hotel were staying. At 10:15 I came out to the smell of freshly baked pizza and chicken wings. I look at him and said "wow they came" he just smiled and nodded as he took a bite out a steamy pep and sausage pie slice.
I want to say thank you to the team and driver who worked past close to make and deliver us that meal. Its so rare as a trucker to get a decent meal after 9pm let alone right before close. Usually the food we get right before close is a reflection of someones anger for ordering 5 minutes before close.
In this case it wasn't. 10/10 pizzahut, you came through for us. And we appreciate that.
Thank you from Two Hungry American Truck Drivers. You're our...
Read moreWe were blown away by the quality and speed. we spent the night at the La Quinta Inn in Holbrook, and although they allow pets, they don't allow you to leave them unattended. That meant delivery for dinner. Pizza Hut was the only place we could find that delivered to the hotel AND was open on sunday night. We had eaten pizza yesterday, so we ordred their Family Combo Pasta Dinner: One Chicken Alfredo Tortallini, and one Meaty Marinara Tortallini, plus 5 garlic herb breadsticks. The meal arrived in 20 minutes, and was piping hot. The food was spectacular! Better than many eat-in Italian restaurants we've visited. The breadsticks were the superstars, but the pasta was outstanding. It was a huge amount of food, too! Enough for 4, and possibly for 5. The Chicken dish was overflowing with chicken- easily a full chicken breast, if not two. The meat sauce was savory, and they didn't skimp on the sauce. The dipping red sauce was tangy, but a little sweet for our taste. For an extra $1, they included a 3 oz. sealed shaker of parmesan cheese. Total cost? $13.99 for the meal special, $1 for the parmesan, and $4.99 delivery. With a 20% tip, the whole bill was $24.00. ONE HELLUVA BARGAIN CONSIDERING THE QUALITY. HIGHLY...
Read morePersonally would not eat here again. First of all when we arrived we waited around 10 mins to be served despite there only being one other customer in the restaurant. When we finally got served, we ordered a large pizza, small pizza and a side of fries, it came to $40. Our large pizza came out completely wrong, the gentleman who served us was absolutely lovely, apologised and offered to make a new pizza. Great! Until it came out as a small 6” pizza….. and we also never received our side of fries. So we literally paid $40 for 2 personal pan 6” pizzas. We couldn’t be bothered waiting around for yet another pizza, so we just left. Very annoyed as we were absolutely starving. I give 2 stars for service for the man who served us as he was lovely and it wasn’t his fault at all. Very unfortunate...
