I'd give it -5 if I could! Don't even attempt to go here if you have food allergies! I mentioned my allergies when we sat down and they brought over the menus. I was told to look at the menu to decide what I wanted then she walked away and handed us off to the other 5 waitresses--not one of which stopped by the table or acknowledged us in 20 minutes! We got up to leave, then the waitress ran after us when we were at the door.
First of all, I couldn't choose what I wanted to eat if I didn't know what kind of oil they use to fry things and what was fried and what wasn't or if I could not have the beans included even though the menu said NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED.
Second, it's VERY rude to not even acknowledge a customer waiting at your table! Especially in a town of TOURISTS! I guess they don't realize word of mouth (or online reviews) can make or break a place all across the country.....
Food allergies are SERIOUS! We have to eat as well! We just have to be a LOT more careful in choosing what we eat to make sure that nothing we can't eat is inadvertently included in our meals! It could be lethal!
Ignoring customers is NOT good business-no matter how busy you perceive your restaurant to be --there were only 6 tables occupied that we could see while we were there. Every customer deserves your attention, even if it's just to say "I'll be right with you" or "we're a little busy right now, but I'll be with you in a few minutes"....don't just walk by and say nothing!
Golden Rule--treat others the way you'd like to be treated.
Oh, I work as a lead clerk at a very busy post office and we always acknowledge the customers that are waiting and apologize for the short staffing creating the wait times when...
Read moreI had looked foward to this place. But from the moment we walked through the door there was an odd smell. Gift shop area was darkened (closed?) No real greeting. Walked through to restaurant Sign said "seat yourself" there were so many dirty tables that it wasn't easy. It appeared that only 2 servers were on duty handling overwhelming business . Veronica, our server was less than enthusiastic to say the least. My husband and I both ordered water then asked what beers were available . She clearly either didn't know the list or wasn't interested in giving us bar service. Food order placed. Salsa and chips were rather slammed on the table. We ordered common beers. My husband recieved the wrong one, no glasses were offered. The food came out in a decent time frame. I got no water. We had no utensils . Food was okay. Green chili was the saving grace. We are typically great tippers...
Read moreEl Rancho was recommended by a local person that I spoke to in the Safeway supermarket. This is where he said we should go for good Mexican food and he was 100% right! Got the steak and chicken fajitas and the rolled tacos--both were absolutely fantastic! The rolled tacos were stuffed with shredded beef not just a little, I could only eat two of the three and gave the other one to my friend. She ordered the fajitas. She ate that for lunch and had so much food that we shared what was left for dinner. The flavor was exceptional. I got some of their hot sauce on the side and it was so flavorful. It had a little heat but not a lot... It was just right. The beans were so well seasoned and tasted great. I would definitely recommend El Rancho and I would go back again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the recommendation Nate Blackrock.. can't...
