The older woman at the cash register was the rudest person I have ever bought anything from. I actually wished I would’ve asked for my money back and not gotten my blizzard. I simply ask her if she knew what a turtle blizzard was because it was not on the menu board and she stared at me and stared at me And finally “what size” I told her and the only other words she said to me was “cash or credit”. That was it.
I’ve been in many forms of customer service and many of them were high stress for over 40 years. This was Worst I have ever experienced in my entire life! If you don’t like your job quit. My turtle blizzard does not have caramel in it and wasn’t hardly mixed. I have no doubt, She did that on purpose. The only thing I did was go to the wrong counter to begin with because I wasn’t sure which one. When she pointed me to the other counter, I went without issue. I realized I made a mistake. I didn’t say anything rude to her. I said “hi how are you” and she ignored me. There was nobody else in line. Nobody was waiting for anything. I tried to have a very calm upbeat attitude with her, but she did not want to deal with me. I thanked her when she brought my blizzard to me. She said nothing but scowled at me. Maybe she’s nicer to others. I don’t know but what I do know is I will never come back to this Dairy Queen again and I travel to Phoenix quite often. Just be prepared if you decide to go to this store. Hopefully she was just having a crappy day and it won’t happen again. I hope that was the case. Not that she had a crappy day, but that she’s not always like that cause that would just be miserable. She looked miserable. The scowl on her face looked permanent. I also get the feeling she might be the owner or at the very least the manager. Shocking that somebody can treat people so disrespectful and still hold a customer service position or have a success business. Enter at...
Read moreWas here 5/5 for an early lunch on our way to San Diego. No matter which mapping service I used it said to exit here in Holbrook off I-40 to head toward Phoenix to pick up I-10. Payson is the next town, but I calculated we would have been there right at the height of lunchtime and I like to avoid the crowds. I don't know what has cause all the fast food places in this town to be ranked in the 3's, but in this case, that just wasn't right. The bathroom was clean (yes it had a faint smell of cleaner, but I am just fine with that.) and was well stocked. My Mom was with me and I missed the conversation because I was in the bathroom, but she was upset because we were too early for the lunch specials and you don't offer discounts for AARP or senior citizens?? All she bought was a Blizzard, and after later learning she was hungry, I bought her a hot dog, but really NO Discounts?? I thought the food was great, and the prices decent, especially for a DQ that sits along the World Famous Rte 66. I had 2 hot dogs and since I was going to the counter to get my Mom a hot dog, I got a hot fudge sundae for myself. Warning: if you eat soft serve ice cream this early in the morning, you are probably going to get brain freeze...LOL!! Oh, but it was so good, totally worth the...

Stopped by the Holbrook Dairy Queen expecting a quick treat and ended up with a frustrating reminder that not all franchises are created equal.
I rolled through the drive-thru to try the Blizzard of the Month, Reese’s Caramel Craze. It’s August, it’s advertised, and I figured it’d be a no-brainer. But apparently, that’s not the case here.
I placed my order and was immediately met with confusion. The staff asked, “So you want a Reese’s Blizzard with caramel added to it?” I clarified, “No, I’d like the new Reese’s Caramel Blizzard, the Blizzard of the Month.” The reply? A rude, “We don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Instead of trying to help or double-checking, they simply insisted they’d add caramel to a Reese’s Blizzard and then told me the total was $12.34 for two small incorrect Blizzards.
If you’re looking for a Dairy Queen that actually acts like a Dairy Queen, save yourself the hassle and skip this one. Either they’re not keeping up with the promotions or they just don’t care. Either way, this location was a major...
