DO NOT STAY HERE!
My family and I recently stayed at Hyde Beach hotel. I would like to bring up multiple issues with our stay that I want others to be aware of before booking here.
NO SECURITY: The hotel advertises that the beach is just a walk away, which is true. However, this walk includes not only a trip across the street, but overall unsafe conditions. On our walk to the beach with my children there was a man MASTERBAITING in public (Yes you read it correctly). This was just yards from the hotel lobby. When I brought this to attention of the staff, nothing was done. The next day we walked outside again on our way to the beach and the man was again MASTERBAITING. Not only did I fear for our safety, but I also had to explain to my children what was going on. I should not have to do this and I fully blame the hotel for not being secure.
RUDE VALET: The hotel only has valet parking which charges you $40 a night. When we arrived, there was no one to help us with our bags or provide us with a bellhop. I was able to find a bellhop in the lobby, which was next to a staff member that was sitting on their phone. He completely ignored me initially, but then when I grabbed the bellhop, he started yelling at me. I explained that I was a guest staying at the hotel and I just arrived. The staff member continued to yell at me. In addition, multiple times when I went to request my car the valet would ignore me. I would inquire with one valet if they had my keys and they would redirect me to another valet who would then completely ignore me. There was absolutely no customer service whatsoever with the valet. So for 4 days you are spending $160 just to park your car…something that should be free with your stay.
MISLEADING ROOM FLOORPLAN: The floorplan of the room did not match what we had originally booked. We booked a two bedroom condo that was both supposed to have access to the balcony for each room. What we found was only one room that had access to the balcony. This is false advertising at his finest!
APPLIANCEES DONT WORK: Multiple appliances did not work such as the toaster and the TV. The Wi-Fi did not work AT ALL. The hotel charges a daily fee that is supposed to cover these amenities, but they actually don’t even provide working amenities.
NO TOLIET PAPER: The hotel lists many amenities but most of these require an extra fee or don’t exist. The front desk person said the hotel is like air b n b but it is far from that. For example, the room has a washer and dryer but they only provide one small box of detergent. They provided no cleaning supplies for dishes other than one small soap bottle and two packs of dishwasher powder. There are no instructions on how to get more toilet paper or trash bags. There is no complementary coffee in the lobby or any of the basic amenities that are in even most motels. There is no ice machine and the freezer in the room produces very little ice. If you want to fill a cooler for the beach you will need to buy ice EVERY TIME. You can do this at the 711 nearby but you risk passing homeless people passed out on the ground or by the person who was masterbaiting in public.
TRASH: Hotel lobby is very clean but once you get outside of this area, there seems to be a lack of cleanliness. Up by the pool, we found trash literered in multiple places. It did appear that there were cleaning staff nearby, but they seem to be more interested in talking amongst themselves or playing on their phones than cleaning.
FEES AND MORE FEES: when I initially booked the room, the final price was $1700 which I felt was fair for the advertised room and amenities. However, what they neglect to tell you is all of the hidden fees. Once checked out our room was about $2300 for just 4 nights. There are numerous hidden fees, such a daily administration fee nightly of about $35 and another 14% fee for some unknown reason. They also will charge you to clean your room after you check out $140.
BOTTOM LINE: AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I ALSO WANT...

Good luck going in the elevator. Put aside at least 20 minutes for waiting and the ride up/down. This has been the situation since at least October 2023 (I'm writing this in March break). Good luck sleeping at night. Paper thin walls and absolutely no sound insulation from the hallways, balconies, or between doors. You will hear everything on the street and any conversation your neighbors make as if you're in the same room. Be careful if you're gossiping about your buddies or in-laws next door! Good luck going in the pool. It's freezing cold. It was hot for a day, and then they slowly lowered the temperature so no one will notice. But people did notice. The pool is also falling apart. I've been collecting pieces from the siding of it and gifting it to the (lazy and inattentive) pool attendant. Good luck sitting by the pool. Impossible to get a seat if you get down after 9. And good luck getting shade - half of the umbrellas are broken. All will break within a couple weeks, I guess. Good luck eating something here. There's no kitchen here, only in next door at the doubletree that they also own, and it takes at least 40 minutes to get food from there. And it's absolutely inedible and overpriced, of course. And their kitchen is only open for, say, 5 hours a day. Good luck parking here. Overpriced valet that have no idea what they're doing. Absolute chaos, with valet people running around moving cars as if they're trying to get hit by a car so they get time off their miserable job. Good luck having a nice coffee and breakfast in the morning to start your day. The only place around requires about 30 minutes of your time. There is no drinkable coffee in the room. Good luck reaching out to anyone of the staff here. Huge lines to check in/out, they don't answer phones, and when you finally reach anyone they have the worst attitude. They don't care. They send you to the manager, Anke, who's a complete dud. She will not fix any problems no matter what. One person went to talk to the front desk staff (Elli), and the first thing he said to him was: "do you want me to check you out of the hotel?". No care at all. And the manager? She didn't care and sided with him. You are absolutely nothing to them but a moving and breathing credit card. It seems like all services in the hotel are outsourced and they're trying to cut corners and save money as much as possible on the expense of guests (and unit owners! Poor owners). Good luck going for the day anywhere. There's insane traffic in the area at all times. It's almost impossible to turn into the hotel's driveway.
Edit: Good luck working remotely from here. The wifi sucks and it disconnects every few minutes-hours. No way to have a meeting...

Those traveling will want to use the Margaritaville hotel as a center point to Hollywood beach boardwalk. Electric car shuttle was cool, but they were done by 10 nightly.
Hotel - elevators kept breaking down, and when running had lengthy wait times. Pool furniture, many pieces were broken, somewhat dirty. Pool area was nice, but loud with traffic, emergency vehicles etc. Don't stay here under the 20th floor if you're looking for quiet. Right next to the HALLANDALE fire department.
Service - Staff was average at best. Valet was lousy. Bartender, some guy from the Double Tree was arrogant, and flat out rude to myself and other guests. He does not belong in hospitality. I asked for extra pillows, staff said no because we stayed in a private rental (VRBO).
Beach - a five minute walk, through a 7-11 parking lot, across a busy two direction intersection at he bottom of a draw bridge. Lot's of traffic. 7-11 was the dirtiest I've ever seen. Beach staff, were all average. Chairs looked like they were bought at a Holiday Inn closure auction. Closely packed into a small area of beach. Tons of signs from the property stating no outside Food & Beverage. Can they regulate on a public beach? Beach service staff brought our lunches and never returned. Pricing for lunch was typical for the market.
Rooms - Modern, but cheap. Somewhat dirty. My laundry closet had dust bunnies, old room keys and lotion bottles on the floor. I stepped on a broken piece of glass my first day. Sofa was disgusting, needed a top sheet, which HSKP reluctantly provided. Again, we were in a VRBO, so perhaps it was only our unit. Shower door leaked, toilet ran, toilet seats loose, mold and drywall issues from the leaky shower. Balcony was nice, probably 30 feet long. Sliding doors opened all the way for fresh air.
Guests - a lot of foreign travelers. Pool was chaos all day, packed with massive families. But not real pool attendants, so be prepared for trash, dirty diapers, old towels and fighting for chairs. The overall lack of attention did not justify the extra resort fee of about $35 a day. It's not really a resort, more like a renovated old condo building they call a hotel.
Overall, I would never go out of my way to return. But, if I had to stay there again, it would be okay. Two stars because of the lousy and misleading location. Normal spots for us are Marriott Vacation Club, Ritz...
